Who would improve us the most? 10:48 - Sep 20 with 1648 views | CopfordBlue | If you could pick one ex-player who has played for us since we were last relegated from the Premier League and put them into our current squad who would you choose and why?

Who would improve us the most? on 10:50 - Sep 20 with 1607 views | _clive_baker_ | Darren Bent Reason is I think it's the area of the pitch where we're less proven, hence Scarlett coming in. I would pick either a central midfielder to partner Morsy, or a forward in terms of where we could do with a proven addition. But you can never have too many goalscorers, and Bent was pure class. Pace, athleticism, work rate, finishing, threat on a counter attack. I think he would fly in this side. [Post edited 20 Sep 2023 11:15]

He would but I meant since 2002/03, only because every one of the players in the great teams Wark played in during his first spell would be a nailed on starter in the current team.

Who would improve us the most? on 11:10 - Sep 20 with 1523 views | Garv | Bent for sheer pace and finishing, or Miller for goals from midfield (although I'm not sure he gets in ahead of Morsy or Mass!) [Post edited 20 Sep 2023 11:12]

Who would improve us the most? on 11:12 - Sep 20 with 1509 views | NthQldITFC | Pablo or Shefki. This isn't a question, this is an answer. Pablo's hold up play, cleverness, pivot point idealness and absolute fkn class - but may not quite have the work rate (although it was a lot better than some 'think'.) Shefki's bullying of centre halves and work rate (not sure if he could keep that going for 90, but 60... no problem)

I see you beat me to the punch in nominating Walters - tried to think of the hardest working attacking player we've had since 2002

Who would improve us the most? on 11:22 - Sep 20 with 1460 views | Cheltenham_Blue | Jim Magilton in his pomp. If we miss anything, it's a centre mid that can create AND score a goal from nothing. [Post edited 20 Sep 2023 11:23]

Hadn't seen your answer before mine... but definitely agree with your reasoning.

I was also thinking the 27 goals a season version of Daryl Murphy
