Tested positive for Covid today 17:03 - Oct 13 with 5058 viewsCheltenham_Blue

Scratchy throat last night and then again this morning. Thought I'd better do one, really really faint second line. So faint that thought it might be a false positive so did another one.

Exact same result, faint second line, but visible.

Feel absolutely fine, just an itchy throat, is this the new version?

Started like that for me, then I had a few days of feeling ropey, nothing dramatic just tired and like I had a head cold. Some people seem to be feeling quite wiped out by this new variant though.

I had it a couple of weeks back, was mainly just a cough but then had a couple of unpleasant days of streaming nose and really painful sinuses before it settled. I only did a test on the first of those but should have done so a bit earlier as it was a very clear line.

It cleared quite quickly, still have an occasional cough but I'm mainly finding myself exceedingly tired as a result.

Yep me too, tested positive on Wednesday, felt like death yesterday but much better today. Second time I’ve had it but was much worse last time given I’m in South Gloucestershire it’s probably a local thing lol

Seeing a slight uptick in people being properly sick with this current variant, it seems to give a hefty dose of the sh1ts to people on occasions as well.

As a by the by, I've taken more people to ITU with symptomatic Covid(IE, high O2 requirement, breathing difficulties) in the past 2 months than I have the past year.

Is the new variant very established yet? I had it a couple of weeks back. Felt rough for 48 hours but not as bad as say the flu. Tired alot since. But i wondered if old or new.

Think of the positives, it's the international break so you'll be fine for the next Town game.

Thought I had Covid but couldn't find a covid testing kit so I did some research on Google and find an alternative testing kit solution. I am pleased to announce that as a man in my 80s I don't have covid, I'm pregnant.

Like others have said, sore throat, then head cold, then a bit chesty, but tired for at least a couple of weeks after all the other symptoms disappeared.

I was 'lucky' enough to get that symptom when I had it back in May.

I also tested positive today. Really achy and hot and cold last night meant I didn't sleep a wink. Temperature has been fluctuating a lot today and coughing a spluttering quite a bit. Very similar to the first time I had it but I can still smell and taste this time. It has ruined my weekend plans though as it was my Grandads 90th yesterday and the family are going out for a meal, gutted doesn't cover it but both Nan and Grandad are obviously venerable and my Stepdad is recovering from cancer surgery so I'm keeping well away.

I've got it at the moment - very thick lines. I have none of the symptoms you've mentioned, just very tired all the time and regular headaches... maybe there are a few versions going about

Maybe just listen to how you feel, like you’ve presumably done your entire life with other viral infections.

On a serious note, bumped into an Australian buddy who I hadn't seen since pre-pandemic t'other day. She flies home once or twice a year to see family, & swears by Vick's First Defence nasal spray as a 'preventative' precaution prior to flying.

A couple of academic papers I found on a google search did suggest another spray (not this one in particular) available outside the UK could be of limited help. Any views on this yourself? (sorry to put you on the spot, I appreciate it's probably not your specalist area).

Poll: Why can't/don't we protest like the French do? 🤔
