To lighten the mood and thinking of the good ole Christmas Selection Box, I was wondering what peoples’ preferences were?

Excluding a bar of Cadburys Milk, for me it has to be a Mars Bar. It is a wonderful creation. Just pop it in the fridge. When chilled take a sharp knife and cut into chunks in the wrapper to retain any chocolate shards. Slice the wrapper length ways and a parcel of joy will be there before you.

Unsurpassed.

Also Daim bars and Starbars.

Rollo's and Munchies very morish.
Aztec the Rolls Royce of chocolate
bars 'a feast of a bar'(Rip). Mars still
reigns supreme although its smaller
these days unlike in the 90's when
it was a hefty 65gram bar with a
thicker chocolate covering...nice

Your 20's Mars Bars is your 90's Milky Way in terms of meatiness. It's a sad, sad world.

May I include a big ol' bar of Cadburys Old Gold rum and raisin in dark chocolate, along with some Coca Cola and an eighth?

Edit: Old Jamaica Rum 'n Raisin, that's what it's called. My memory's shot.

If you are talking Christmas chocolate selection boxes then Terry's Neapolitans were hard to beat, sadly nearly 20 years since Kraft made them.

A crumbled Ripple into a bowl of custard is soon good.

Texan bar
Double Decker

Cadbury Marvellous Creations (I think they're called. Think fruit and nut with jelly beans and space dust)

... "into a bowl of custard"?? 😱

No, it’s a crème egg, not a bar. Nice though, even if they have shrunk in size.

Edit: I’ve thought about this overnight - it has to fall within chocolate bar catigory in the same way as a packet of Rollos (mmm) or Munchies (meh) does.

Apparently they haven't! Apparently they've increased in size although the chocolate is inferior nowadays (it used to be dairy milk chocolate)

Even as a kid I hated Creme eggs. It just seemed like a half-arsed attempt at a truffle. It also tastes like a lump of type 2 diabetes, far too sweet

This, and the fact they are not widely stocked means I don't have one that often so they're a rare treat rather than over-indulged.

Fair enough. Must be me getting bigger. Regarding the chocolate on them, agreed - it’s not as good.

And why people still buy them now Salted Caramel Eggs are around is frankly baffling...
