Pretty sure that it was reported he was ill for the Birmingham game, then returned to the bench for Rotherham, before not being in the squad today. [Post edited 11 Nov 2023 18:01]

He said Williams was missing because he had not recovered from his illness.
It could be literally true that he had 'gone' as in came to the stadium and then left because he was still ill. | |

Tbh I had a winter flu thing recently that took me out of work, I wouldn’t recommend playing football in that state! Maybe we thought why risk it today when we’re on the brink of a break anyway, get him rested and ready for the next run of games. He can’t be recalled or sold so unless there’s something disciplinary I don’t see other than him being less than 100% what the issue is. | | | |
