Listening to the summarised evidence, it was daft that the Government thought any of this was a good idea.
There was a really important bit when Lord Reed was basically saying that leaving the EHCR isn't some silver bullet for getting rid of human rights appeals as there are a bunch of other treaties we're signed up to that basically cover the same things. [Post edited 15 Nov 2023 10:23]

In my opinion, this should be enough for the tories to call a snap GE. Whilst it seems they would lose that, the months of intense in-fighting for this will only stand to risk the result becoming a massive landslide when the GE is due.
