Only Henderson. Other than that, those that are available, ok.

Yeah definitely not a time against Malta where you could have tried;

Konsa
Cole
Watkins
Lewis
Bowen

Malta at home - ffs. Southgate and his ridiculous love in for old players - out.

I don’t understand Gallagher. I think he’s massively overrated (by his managers, who in fairness all know a lot more than me).

Guehi is a Rolls Royce of a defender though, so happy to see him in.

Why on earth are these games still being played? For years it has been advocated that the tiny football nations play each other in pre-qualifying to avoid these ridiculous mismatches that are no benefit to either side. Imagine the FA Cup with no pre-qualifying with Liverpool drawing Grundisburgh in Round 1.

He’s the new Delaney inhe. (Although Delaney went the other way from being played out of position at LB to CB, so that doesn’t really work). It’s a bit of an odd one, although I don’t know how Southgate sets them up. If he’s only got to defend and stay in our own half, it’s fine.

It seems that if you’re come through the age groups you’re in the pool for selection. It’s a bit restrictive/elitist. I’ve no idea how he’s been playing though, so it could be on merit. Gawd knows.

I just don’t get it.

No Lb playing at Lb, no blooding of youth players, how is rashford playing at the moment?

Like the England cricket team.

I agree. Despite my protests, my daughter has put it on and to make matters worse it's bloody Dion 'state the bleeding obvious' Dublin on co-comms.
Club football can't return quickly enough.

It's 106 miles to Portman Road, we've got a full tank of gas, half a round of Port Salut, it's dark... and we're wearing blue tinted sunglasses.

In all fairness, although the players should be of a much higher standard, the benefit of regularly training and playing together shouldn't be ignored. Top international teams of the past often benefitted from most of their players being at 2 or 3 clubs.

If Malta were on the way to a 9-0 walloping I'd agree, but they could have been one up and are making things difficult for a pretty dismal England.

Not even from the penalty.

How did VAR leave that as a booking for Kane?

But, yes a disjointed display.

Agree with that, probably the best Malta team I've seen in a while.
They'll still probably lose by 5 or 6 though.
The two Mbongs look very useful.
