well apart from detesting their bile and p1ss coloured kit, finding their attempts to justify a lack of achievement by having a 'psrticipation ' board more than a little tinpot and just finding their fans well just a bit odd for so many reasons I do hope we stuff them on Saturday!!!

Yes agree as a county Suffolk is at least equal to Norfolk, my comment was comparing Ipswich & Norwich.

Suffolk has lots to offer and my company is 90% remote workers from all over the country and its always nice to hear how others speak of Suffolk when peoples location gets brought up in conversation. Surprised me how many have actually spent a holiday here as we don't actually appreciate what's on our doorstep. At least I am guilty of that anyways.

I think Suffolk is really nicely located, bordering Cambridgshire and Essex, we've got the natural beauty, coastline, some lovely market towns and villages and remoteness, but the location also brings in investment, and being that much closer to London (but not too close to become an overspill). It's a nice balance IMO. Essex is too close to London that a lot of it is a bit sh1t, and Norfolk is too far where a lot of it is proper backwaters and just feels worlds away from Suffolk (not in a good way either).

I live in BSE and I've got friends who bemoan the lack of a direct train to London, but I have to remind them it wouldn't be the Town we all love so much if it did (and I probably wouldn't have been able to afford to live there).

Suffolk is a bit close to London in my book, compared to Norfolk at least, but maybe thats just because i'm only interested in getting away from the smoke.

I must admit, I've always considered Norfolk as far superior, but in the last few years have started visiting a place called Great Glemhem, near Saxmundham and totally fell for that and the surrounding area.

I'd still put Norfolk ahead because of the Broads mainly, but its closer than i thought.

Maybe, it’s because I’m getting older, but I’ve found myself reflecting that sanity comes from remembering that Norwich are our rivals and not our enemies.

That being said, the fact that their streak in the derby has coincided with both the rise of social media and the Age of the Podcast, leads me to conclude that there are several prominent people in those sectors who really deserve to absorb a derby defeat on their platforms. The vibe leading up to it from them has been generally resigned and respectful of what we’ve done so far. Please let the coup de grace be administered on Saturday, so we can all move on.

Abuse reported?

Is that a case of:

a) a mis-click.

b) someone getting disgusted at the line about Norwich being rivals rather than enemies.

'Because of The Broads'

Gentle reminder that the other official name of the Broads is The Norfolk and Suffolk Broads because part of it is in Suffolk.

So if that's why you put Norfolk ahead. No need. It's a draw.

I think we might have had this before Geoff. You're wrong of course as the Waveney is the property of Norfolk.

I did have a google to back my claim up and unfortunately found the Broads Authority referring to Broadland as you did, but thats just pc gone mad wokery.

Walk along Prince of Wales Road 10pm on a Friday night and tell me there are worst places in Ipswich than that ?

They put bouncers on the flipping train station to stop the troublemakers.

Yes there are nice parts in Norwich, there are nice parts in Ipswich I don't think locals quite appreciate parks like Christchurch Park properly. But there are also rubbish bits, just like Ipswich.

Alot of Norwich pubs are overrated, there's just so many of them you can find more than few that suit you, but Norwich is a bigger place, it's a regional hub for the whole of Norfolk that the rest of Norfolk feeds into. Ipswich isn't like that it shares that with Bury and because we have good connections to London & Cambridge, Ipswich has less focus in Suffolk as a whole as a result.

In Norfolk your choice is Norwich and that's it,everywhere else is a multi hour journey away, so naturally Norwich develops more shops or restaurants or an arts scene because it then has more visitors spending money there.

I'm with you that one thing Norwich lacks is parks. I lived there for a few months. I'm told they do have some, but I lived pretty centrally and never cane across any. Ipswich has great parks.

But King's Lynn is a bigger town than Bury. More to the point is that go about ten miles south of Ipswich and your nearest town (for dentist, cinema, even school) is Colchester.

Try telling the people of Beccles, The Pearl Of The Broads, that they are in Norfolk.

The Broads Authority is obviously the authority about the broads, so if they say it is the Norfolk and Suffolk Broads, the Norfolk and Suffolk Broads it is.

Norfolk is an expansionist entity, like Putin's Russia, and is forever claiming more an more territory from its neighbours.

The Waveney is of course the natural boundary between the two, with the centre line being the actual border. The 1974 stitch up that moved territory from south of the Waveney into Norfolk was an aberration that must be corrected.

It's time for WAR!

Or maybe we can settle it over a footy match. The winner keeps the disputed bit of Lothingland until the next game.

I was actually born in the Norfolk and Norwich hospital, worked in Norwich from1968 until 1973 and had decent workmates and was engaged to a girl who live in Costessey and her father owned the Wensum Cafe which I believe now has a Holiday Inn or something similar standing on that ground. But I have always been a Town fan and used to travel by train to Ipswich for night games. No doubt about it Norwich as a place is better than Ipswich. Since Debenhams closed the Town is dead. It used to be great taking the kids up to see the lights and carol singers on a Thursday night shopping before Christmas. Town though have a much better Stadium and a much better team which I sincerely hope they will prove on Saturday. I'll be gutted if they don't. COYB.

They don't seem to say that Norwich City is a fine football club. Odd, that.

Norwich is a fine city, steeped in history and pubs galore. A wonderful place to live where many of my formative years were spent and i hope some of my latter ones too.

But the football club is an absolute joke of a no mark team with fans so desperate to cling on to anything they can call success that they'd call a quarter final a trophy.

I grew up among them, I was made, at school to sit through their European cup "run" and I was the only kid screaming for Ze Germans, I have been behind enemy lines, faced them down at school the day after we might have lost (or smiled knowingly after a Bryan Gunn air kick or an Alex Mathie inspired thrashing) and despite no longer being among them, despite having only 1 bloke at work (who is outnumbered 2 to 1) over whom I would be able to crow I have never, ever in all my life wanted to win one game of football so badly.

I cannot watch the updates during the game, I can't join the chat room, I can't bare it until it's over.

Please Town, I implore you slay the banter era once and for all, end the hoodo, poach the canaries, not just for Ipswich, but for the good of Football and give me something to cheer that i haven't been able to for so many years that I have lost count.

Walk forward brave boys in blue, seize thine enemy and make yourselves immortal. Do this boys and you will walk with giants, you shall become part of the very fabric of history itself and we shall call it Incestpendance day.

The Waveney is the border between you lot and Suffolk.

It flows through Bungay (Suffolk), Beccles (Suffolk) and a few much more minor places.

Certainly you should be looking at League 1 although your recent uptick in form should have you safe from it for a little while.

You have enjoyed participating in the Premier League in recent seasons. Good for you. You do realise that is history you are clinging to, though, don't you?

This is what really narks me about Nodgers, they are a bunch of hypocrites. Going on about all their petty non-success over the years but then dismissing the real achievements of their southern betters as ancient history.

The closest you've even come to winning a really trophy was in Mike Basset England manager.
