Can anyone back up that this is actually true? From what I saw was she was behind the Ipswich bus and it wasn't hostile blue flares, but was blue flares in support of our club.

I was about 5 metres from it. There was alot of town fans folding in behind the bus and then some spotted a car right behind it being driven by a man in a canaries tie (as i thought one bloke shout). There then followed alot of banging on the car roof and someone did seem to lob the contents of a can at it. I did think it was a bit out of order and the wrong side of raucous. I also thought it was very silly to drive there amongst all those fans. I also thought the police were all around the coach and in front and in reality they should have had some behind. I dont think anyone knew it was delias car as no one shouted its delia. [Post edited 16 Dec 2023 18:27]

Agree with this, I was a similar distance from it. Heard drumming on a car and saw what I thought was a coffee thrown at it. After it passed someone said it was Wagner to me so didn't know it was Delia until getting on here. |  | | |

As soon as I heard about this prior to ko I knew the scum based media would be making a complete meal of this. Tbh they’re using it as smoke and mirrors to detract from their clubs pitiful performance. You can put your house on the blanket coverage of this “ incident” on the Saturday night BBC narwich and especially About Narwich news, and a re run of it all over again on Mondays sports round up.

I just looked at a video i did on my phone and i caught a bit. There were a couple of police vehicles after the coach, then this car. I thought i remembered it being silver merc. So thats a bit odd. But anyway.
I was worried the Norwich coach was going to come too. But they almost certainly came to the back of the sir alf?
Im not excusing raucous behaviour but i really do think that it was a stupid move to try and come in under the slip stream of the town bus amongst thousands of pumped up fans. | |

After cordoning half the town off, it does seem bizarre that the plod let this happen. Really poor planning on their behalf. They could have held her car up and allowed it in once everything had calmed down.
There's never been an issue that I'm aware of but allowing them to follow the coach with all that was going on was daft beyond belief.

I happened to be a few metres from the car and people were saying it was delia and her husband in it. I sat next to a reporter (don’t know from where) on the train back and he was trying to verify whose fault it was. It’s possible the driver had decided to go a different way than the way he had been told to go, or he had followed the coach in, thinking it was the Norwich coach. Either way, he wasn’t supposed to be going that way. That’s not to excuse the behaviour of some fans though, or that the police didn’t hold the car until the crowd greeting the coach had dispersed. Up to the point the car turned up the atmosphere was amazing. | | | |

My son has it all on video. There were two police vehicles behind the coach, then delia's car. The fans fold in behind the police vehicles, literally dozens and dozens and the car then becomes detached from the police escort. Which really is unacceptable. Plenty of banging on the car. You can see the back windows are blacked out and id be surprised if people knew for sure delia was in the back. The driver with his norwich tie on was the give away. Its lucky it didnt get nastier than it did before they got round the corner.
Im the sort of person who would have walked her to her seat with a cup of tea. So im bot excusing the general mayhem and banging on the car, but its pretty inevitable it was going to happen. The police definitely shouldnt have let them be at the back and detached. | |

I assume though that people folded in after the police car through as they didn't expect there to be another car to be behind it? | |
