Hirst and his return 11:06 - Feb 1 with 3921 views | textbackup | Was there any rough date given? I only ask as Ive seen him up the gym (he must be 7 foot tall btw) doing, what looked, a pretty intense weight training session. I know lifting weights and being on the grass are totally different things, but he looked in great shape, and strong.

Ah fair enough. Point still stands on the size of him… very slim tho, I guess if he’s any bigger (like a K.Moore) it impacts his ability to run around like he does for 90mins

Because I’m 39 years old and he’s in the middle of a workout with a couple of ITFC staff.

Hirst and his return on 12:25 - Feb 1 with 3037 views | Garv | If we don't go up we'll look back at that freak injury with such annoyance. Talk about attacking from the front and setting the tone, he'd been so good. Bar Morsy and Davis he's the last player you'd want to be without for 4 months. Let's see what Moore can do!

Hirst and his return on 12:28 - Feb 1 with 2989 views | Vaughan8 | This might be a stupid question, but I'd have thought the club would have their own gym the players can use? I know you've posted a few times about seeing players in the gym you go to, is that where a lot/all of ITFC players go?

Wasn;t that one of lambert or Cooks gripes, that the club didn't have it's own gym or at least a decent one?

I presume he's referring to David Lloyd club on Ransomes Industrial estate. Many years ago, when i used the club, there were often ITFC players training there. I always found them and there trainers very approachable. They represent the club, they are hardly going to be rude given that pretty much all of them recognise how important the supporters are.

I’m pretty sure the club have a gym, with all the equipment they’d need. But I’d guess that they, like everyone, like a change of scenery. Plus they have the steam room etc up there. In terms of other things, like the ice chambers etc, the club have just contracted this out to a local guy, where of a week he’ll see the entire first team squad. I think it’s with half an eye on us purchasing the equipment. When the training ground gets the refurb. Was also told at the weekend that the bent lane side of TG is to become the ITFC ladies home

Is it just me, or is it generally reasonable to to think over-watering the pitch played a part in that?

He stretched for the ball. Nothing to do with the pitch I would've thought.

I seem to remember he stretched, planted his foot and that foot then slipped about another 6 inches or so sideways, so maybe a pitch/studs issue but pretty hard to guard against in reality. I was more concerned that the physios made the decision to let him back onto the pitch, I can't really see how they could have thought it was cramp (also I think it was just a few minutes before half time wasn't it?)

They needed the time to get a substitute ready, it was obvious he couldn't continue but it bought us time, halted the game, instead of playing with 10 for several minutes. And I still say he tweaked it before the injury occurred the slip was largely the result of it going.

I think some are just addicted to going to the gym in their own time as well and just keeping themselves moving whereas club doesn't stay open all the time for that.

Closed/pre season they are about a fair bit. However the only one up there on a daily basis is Ashton. Before today I’ve only seen Jackson, Clarke & Walton up there whilst season underway (not that I keep a record or anything) Few other Town fans up there have said they’ve seen a few using the sauna the morning after a game

To be fair, the egress into DL is top notch.

Awful pass from Woolfenden made him stretch

I've seen Jackson, Clarke, Humphreys and Woolfie up there - plus my Dad saw Chappers and Burns the other day I used to see Dozzell in the gym a lot when he was here (and I actually was using it a lot too at the time...!)

Awful? He was some distance away and it was a couple of meters to the side of him. Awful might be over doing it a bit

I was right behind it from my ST seat, terrible pass under no pressure. Hirst didn't have to stretch for it of course but it was a poor pass. A last-minute winner from Woolfenden at Carrow Road will make up for it.
