Am feeling we probably need Lucan's thoughts on this one.

I would have said my old local The Racecourse

Hooever, that is unfortunately long gone.

I’ll say it simply has to be The Smock.

And long may it reign. 👍🏼🕺😂

I was going to say I thought it had been closed recently, have never made it in there myself.

....I've never lived in Ipswich.

Or Suffolk.

I used to pop in now and again back in the day, they used to have strippers on a Sunday lunchtime, an then a few roast potatoes if the gods were smiling.

All in all though, if we are talking Stoke, I rather liked The Harlequin.

Nowhere near Ipswich but this would be it for me. The Hulme/Manchester punks picnics used to be held here and in the flats and grass around it. TWTD.

I think the Smock has gone now as well.

I think the Kingfisher and the Flying Horse are now the only 'council estate' pubs still standing.

Not entirely sure on what the Selkirk is these days.

I live near The Selkirk, I never warmed to the pub but I gave it a shot now and again.

Haven't been in for over two years but I notice it's seemingly been closed for about 6 months as I drive past it now and again.

Landlady has given notice at the Kingfisher. Been no takers so far to take it on.

I was going to say the Selkirk. I played a truly awful gig there a while back and it was very much like this

Went there early doors pre a norwich game years back, before pubs opened at 0700 for derby day.

OB turned up and the 70/80 in there had to run upstairs and hide in the owners living room/kitchen/bedroom.

It's exactly 1km from my front door - I know that as when I go for a run, Strava tells me I've done 1km as I go past on the other side of the road.

Never been in there though.

It actually looks like the now closed Scarlet Pimpernel ( The Pimp to the locals) on Haverhills Chalkstone Estate.
Seems strangely quiet and quite a classy crowd for a Thursday afternoon though
