Reported 200k Scotland fans descending on Munich for the opener tommorow. That's ridiculous numbers given they are not realistically going to win the Euros.

Given their only experience of a major tournament since 1998 was the slightly odd Euros in 2021 it's not entirely surprising they are making the most of it. Plus, of course, it's Munich anyway.

Not sure what the part about winning has to do with it. They're there to enjoy themselves - and as a Welshman stuck at home I'm very jealous.

But yes ridiculous numbers.

They are and will probably drink Munich dry. At least they’ll have fun without smashing the place up which is of course too many England ‘supporters’ usual idea of fun.

As for winning it? No chance. France or Portugal?

Glasgow Central had a fair few bunches of the tartan army. Fair play to them, no trouble just good times and I wish I was going. Maybe I could sneakily get over there in July if we are still in...

Tribalism has already started though and divisions created in the workforce. Three Lions soon to be pelted out on Monday morning after they get bumped by the Germans and we cruise to victory Sunday.

Anyone remember the mayhem in the town when Celtic played us in a testimonial match for Alan Hunter I think? Hundreds of Scotties descended on the town very early on carrying bags of drink, completely Brahms and Liszt by time of kick off and it must have cost the council a fortune clearing up the rubbish they left after..... Good luck with that, Germany!

Bloke I work with, massive Hibs fan and a lovely bloke, him and about 10 of his family are going over, 4 of them have tickets.

Our manager is a loud mouth Chelsea dckhead, constantly saying it’s a waste of his time. It’s actually made me hope England lose, and Scotland get further just to shut him up.

Until I worked for an Edinburgh based insurance company I never realised how deep the Hibs/Hearts rivalry is and how mad they are

There was an actuary who took on a 6 month contact in London who had a clause in his contract that if Hearts played an evening game at home the company would pay for him to fly back to watch the game

In fairness, when the Jocks get to these tournaments and go on the lash there is rarely any trouble which i in stark cointra to English "fans". saw first hand what utter scum can follow our national team in Stuttgart in 2006.

Could you see any English fans doing this in Germany?

Press innit.

My point exactly.

Dutch and German fans the worst I’ve seen first hand.

We are talking about the difference between Scotland fans and England fans behaviour at major tournaments. Not German or Dutch.

Scotland have a history of self policing. If someone starts to get out of hand they are dealt with pretty sharpish.

The game where the floodlights failed, often blame on Celtic fans going up to the back of the North and having a plss, apparently the North was like a waterfall that night.

I also remember all the town supermarkets and off'ies selling out of sherry. It was then explained to me by a very drunk Celtic fan the aim is to get drunk as quickly and cheaply as possible, and price per alcohol strength, sherry is the cheapest option.

They all arrived (it seemed) 2 days before the match, the town centre was full of them sleeping overnight, for what was a friendly. I often wondered how many would turn up if it had been a competitive game.

Blimey I remember that

Parents had the General Gordon at the time

I remember they had the whole of the North Stand I think as I had to stand in the Churchmans

Was a testimonial game wasn’t it ? I must’ve been about 11/12 years old then

Rangers fans travelled in decent numbers for a pre season friendly once too IIRC. Must've been about 20 years ago, I remember loads of them pouring out of the Hare & Hounds on to Norwich Road. Always struck me as a really odd choice of pub for their pre match pints.

I’m talking about the difference between what the media portray and what I’ve seen first hand.

You post a picture of Scottish fans clearing up litter. You mention that you’ve witnessed “our” fans behave awfully at tournaments.

I’ve not seen it myself but I’ve witnessed Dutch and German fans behaving horrendously at tournaments.
