Healthy eating series: Eggs 12:29 - Jun 27 with 4203 views | SitfcB | Know you all love an egg thread. There was a small bit of egg chat on the other one but wanted to gauge opinion on just eggs. LL mentioned he could, or does, eat 10 boiled eggs in one go, on a moderation scale I’m not so sure that would count as healthy? I’ve been having a couple as a mid morning snack this week, and then maybe one in the evening. (Been quite easy to peel - I run could water over them when they’re still warm from the egg boiler) Are they actually good to eat? I know some people eat them raw! Think Slimming World even says you can have them fried if they’re fried in Fri-light? People say they bung you up more than anything?

Well up for this. Since my auto-immune diagnosis, I've lost 10kg but need to lose another 15-20kg ideally and would be great motivation.

Lady Dollers and I saw the weight drop off when we stuck to them... and even now that we're not doing it religiously I still cook the recipes as the meals are so tasty, healthy and not difficult to make. There's even desserts and more snacky stuff. |
Very good books | |

Thank you. Well my wife first started with the 1-1 cambridge diet, and although I don't really believe these things, to support her, I partially joined the plan with her but I mix it up. so I do indeed have their shakes, bars, but I also ensure I eat a proper dinner and after a gym session as mentioned just above, I have something protein rich to get the afterburning going. The exercise is the biggest thing, my wife unfortunately had to have surgery a month into me joining the plan, so whilst she came off plan, i stuck to it, and started going to the gym on my own, it was very nerving, but I set myself a target of 10 minutes. on the fist day, That's all. Not because physically i couldn't do more, but more that i was by myself and if i can do 10 minutes then the next time i can do more. So fast forward, im doing gym 4 mornings a week, an hour at a time, eating well. Drink - very rarely now, literally only on social occasions and limited to spirits no beers. Actually will share, i've not had the courage, but this morning, I went swimming at on my own too, which was again, nerving, but loved it.

I am in awe of people like you, battling through not only the physical barriers but also the mental ones. Both these battles that you are winning will set you up for a much brighter future. It's lovely to see slow changes amount to a massive difference in life. When you read about self-improvement (Whether it is health, mental, work, or relationships...) the big thing is consistency. Turning up and making yourself accountable to yourself. Hope you are treating yourself along the way as well. It's important to stop and realise how far you have come and reflect on it. Keep up the good work, I don't know if you have a goal in mind but keep on going

I won't down arrow....but.....microwaving scrambled eggs is completely unacceptable. Scrambled eggs is an art form!!!! Has to be done just right in a pan. On and off the heat. Lots of butter. Lush.

It can be done just right in the microwave too... just keep checking/stirring before it goes rubbery to keep it at the right consistency. On the hob you have a bit more control, but easy to burn the bottom of the pan too.

Healthy eating series: Eggs on 13:32 - Jun 27 by SWBlue22 | Always remember seeing them in the chippy. Always used to wonder what they tasted like and tried it few years back and it’s just disgusting complete waste of eggs. |
Noooooo, pickled eggs are wonderful. For a satisfying post-pub meal, just chop up a couple of pickled eggs and add to a saucepan containing heated-up baked beans, half a bottle of tabasco, a heaped teaspoon of chilli flaked (or powder). Serve with a bag of microwavable pilau rice. Ready in 5 minutes. Yum. Home-pickled eggs are better still, as you can experiment with flavours; you can predict that I prefer chilli-pickled, but some swear by garlic!

Disagree, microwaving eggs is an art form as well. There is a window of about 0.05 secs where they go from too runny to pirelli tyres-esque. Saying that I never cook my scrambled eggs on the hob there days, microwave all the way! [Post edited 27 Jun 2024 19:01]

Healthy eating series: Eggs on 19:16 - Jun 27 with 1211 views | wkj | Forgot to mention, something that I did when dropping weight all those years ago was up my hot spice intake. Not uncommon to see an American put tobasco on fried eggs and for some the hot spice makes them feel persistently more full. It isn't for everyone, but different methods of weight loss isn't universal for everyone either.
