23 for me… I’m guess there will be categories of 25+, 20+, 15+ etc That said, I’m guessing more people have less points, so might need/want to get those with more points dealt with quickly, so a category 20+, then 15+ etc [Post edited 11 Jul 2024 10:53]

I think it depends on your personal circumstances. I’ve got a mate who manages to get to a lot of away games starting with few points but he doesn’t have kids and works for himself so was often able to pick up a late return and go last minute and on his

Will be in the second priority tier for the first time assuming one is 30+ and not 25+. Shocking slide down the table. Asa out! Thought it would be the case. Did 21/23 away games in League One but only 15 last year so knew it would take a drop if they reset to cover mainly / solely last season. On a wider note I do hope that they have a ballot for 10% of away tickets. Even though I've been to most away games the last few seasons I have been lucky to be able to afford to and able to with my work. A few years before that I had no chance of getting to away games and there will be plenty of people who haven't missed away games through lack of loyalty or being glory hunters but circumstances change and plenty of loyal fans over the last 5, 10, 20, 50 years will currently be excluded so would be lovely if everyone had a chance to get to see us away next year. Not everyone can afford the time or money to go all over the country picking up points needed for other games they want to go to but are more popular.

I don’t think they’ll restrict any ballot to season ticket holders who don’t have enough points. It should be open to all Super Blue members. There are plenty of us over the years who, for geographical and logistical reasons, couldn’t become season ticket holders and now can’t even if they wanted to. But I still went to the best part of 20 odd games each season with my sons, usually split between home and aways. Unfortunately away games became more difficult last season but I still kept up my overall attendance with my youngest son. If they limited the ballot to season ticket holders, it would be massively unfair on members like myself and would provide little incentive for anyone to become a new member. And I’m pretty sure they won’t limit that.

Put thats tough isn't it? If you don't want to go to the unfavourable ones you can't then moan when you don't get tickets to the popular games. The time argument I think is rubbish to be honest, don't have the time to go to the smaller teams but if there's a big game suddenly people are free [Post edited 11 Jul 2024 11:18]

I go to games with my daughter - she lives with me half the time. That means that pretty much 50% of all games are ruled out. Like you I also live in the Midlands, 3 hours away from PR. We went to pretty much every home and away game we could last year - a total of 15 games, 8 home, 7 away. Would have been 16 if not for Rotherham being cancelled the first time - couldn't make the rescheduled game. Some games we weren't high enough priority for. Because of school, a lot of evening games were ruled out. Sometimes we had other family commitments. But we went to every game we realistically could. I'm currently on 11 points. Hoping that's enough to get to some games this year. As always we'll go to as many as we can. It's not about wanting to only go to the big games - it's just what's realistic practically. Everyone's circumstances are different. Work, school, family, relationships, finances, where they live. Sometimes I hear this 'all or nothing' argument put forward here that you should attend every single game, and if you don't then tough, you shouldn't be entitled to go to any. That's not realistic for most people, and I think it's right that the club tries to tread the balance of it not being a closed shop and rewarding those who do go to more games. I think I'll be OK this season as the last few, but I agree that a ballot is a good idea, but surely most people will want to go with at least one other friend/partner etc. I wonder should winning a place entitle you to two tickets, as long as the other person is also a member?

I thought that. Me and the person I go most regularly to away games with are on a similar level of points so it's not a big problem, but in a ballot system if you get 1 ticket that might not be great for a lot of people. Ultimately however its cut it's difficult as 10,000 doesn't go into 3,000. I do agree with the posts about spreading the love a bit though somehow. I say this as someone who has enough points to get tickets to most away games (I imagine, based on last season), but it would be good if as many folk as possible could get to some games and keeping a % back for that seems right. I don't really get the 'big game' thing, I'm not there to watch our opponent and arguably the lesser games are the ones we have more chance of winning. Fulham or Leicester away is no less attractive to me as Man United tbh.

I think in a 3,000 away allocation, saying that 2,700 go on sale to those with the highest points and the other 300 will be 150 pairs to ballot winners would be a near perfect system. Of course you'll have people that miss out when they would have been 2,701st in the queue but you can never win there anyway. Someone is always the person to just miss out. That 2,700 is bigger than almost all the League One allocations and a fair few Championship ones so you still cater for the fans who have been able to do the hard yards in the last few years without excluding every one else. Like I say, I can probably do every away game next season because I did nearly every one in the last two. But if we'd gone up to the Premier League three years ago I doubt I'd have got to one away game in the top flight because I only did 5 away games in the Cook / McKenna season and none at all the year before with Lambert. It's not that I'm suddenly now a better fan than any other point in the last 40 years, I've just changed jobs and had more disposable income and been very lucky with the timing, so personally don't want the ladder pulled up because there will be plenty of people who went to every away game 3-4 years ago when I was barely going that haven't been able to go of late. Definitely fair to reward the fans who've gone most recently, you can't have a points system going back decades, but other fans and even fans who have never been away but might now want to go, should have a bit of hope they can. Two things, firstly it's not about not wanting to go... some people can't AFFORD to go to loads of games. I thought I made this clear. Secondly, i didn't say anything about smaller teams, I was more thinking of distance. It takes all day to get to many northern games. I live in Crystal Palace, it would take me 20 mins to walk there. I'm just saying it's not as cut and dried as you make it out to be. If people can afford to get to all those games then they deserve the points, I'm not saying that. I'm saying it's a bit harsh on people who can only get to one or two (due to time or money or both) that they then can't get to anything else (i.e. local).
