This is digusting - west ham tickets on 15:13 - Jul 24 by Help | F me that is steep. London prices. How much is a pie and a pint? |
well beer got to £7.30, 2 years ago (they were the most expensive in the league) before it dropped back about 70p after West Ham lobbied the stadium owners to lower it, as West Ham dont set the prices, the London Stadium corp do and they dont care about ticking off the home fans, cos West Ham have to pay them a bunch of cash regardless. but hey we were charging £6 in the championship last season, so theyre not exactly ridiculously expensive considering their London prices.

It'll be interesting. They'll be an increase. But Ashton is very careful about the community stuff. I'd be surprised if he throws that away easily I think it'll be slowly increased over the next few years.

This is digusting - west ham tickets on 20:34 - Jul 24 by jontysnut | Leeds are replacing their Super Away Fan ticket scheme for people who've been to 80% of away games over 5 years with an £850 away season ticket - more than the cost of individual away tickets. Trebles all round! |
Thought the headline made that seem worse than it is. Leeds already do an away season ticket and youd assume that the vast majority of those fans going to 80%+ of away games and having to pay for them all individually, make sure they keep their priority points, get online in the right sales window etc would probably be more than prepared to pay an extra £150 for an away season ticket instead. After all, they are probably spending a load more than that on travel etc, plus time off work, the commitment is huge. All it seems they have done is removed the highest priority, given to 250 odd fans, and offered them a step up if they want it. Otherwise, they are just in the priority below for tickets.

That's exactly why I detest them so much

This is digusting - west ham tickets on 15:17 - Jul 24 by ITFCson | Cheapest tickets for Man City is £55 which isn’t horrendous. I’d imagine for lesser fixtures the cheapest tickets are around the £40 mark |
Indeed. Football is big business now. West Ham have a big stadium & plenty of casuals will fancy rocking up to see Man city so why wouldn't they put up the prices? At least they won't be charging £80 when Ipswich play there.

This is digusting - west ham tickets on 15:08 - Jul 24 by budgiebasher | It’s not just pure economics though or at least it shouldn’t be. I’m sure that we could sell out PR next season with much higher ticket prices than we have introduced but the Club retains some concern for the average fan thankfully |
West Ham are in a different ballpark to us though. They are an established PL side with regular European outings. We’re just back in the big time after 20 years in the wilderness. Let’s see where our ticket prices are in 5 years time if we stay up. Don’t get me wrong I think the pricing is appalling when Clubs are getting massive financial support from the PL and frankly can afford to keep prices down, but that unfortunately isn’t the way the world works.

but he wont hurt boosting the finances of the club, that we will probably need wherever we are, just to satisfy some vague happy undefinable feeling of communityness, the club is still a business, it needs to make money to survive. just look at matchday ticket prices for this season compared to last year, theyre all more than 10% increases on adult tickets from last season. and season tickets are now quite a bit out of sync with that pricing model, like my season ticket is roughly 2/3rds of the cost of match day ticket prices. thats quite a big discount, back from the days I remember you saved about 10% at most, which worked out as a "free" game per season. obviously if you push too hard on prices you risk bleeding away money and might end up slightly worse off. but I dont think that kind of cost disparity is sustainable especially when as every keeps telling us theres so much pent up demand we should invest 30-40million of money we dont have, building a new stand.

As with everything- only because people are stupid enough to pay it, so it really is supply and demand. England kit price is a great example, people rage against it being over 100 quid but then go buy it anyway - so of course they will charge that. If people stood by their principles and no one bought it, the kit would end up hawked by Mike Ashley in Sports Direct for £20.

This is digusting - west ham tickets on 18:54 - Jul 25 with 620 views | OldFart71 | I will say this for any function, sports event or whatever. If people are daft enough to pay the prices they will keep putting them up. yes, Supply and Demand. No Demand and the prices would have to reduce. Nobody can deny a club income whether that be through the turnstiles or through sales of alcohol, food or shirts etc. What should not happen or even be allowed is overcharging. Every venue sports, music festival or whatever should by law be limited to how much they can charge. Prices to get into theme parks can cost a parent a months wages for a family of four for one day. I got caught out going on a one day pass to DisneyWorld Florida. Total cost excluding any drinks or food or souvenirs was about £300 and we didn't get on any rides at all and missed the parade. Should have known better as the kids were off school. Before someone say's, yes I am aware many functions are bought by third party means. Our own Ed Sheeran has campaigned against this touting of tickets.
