Apparently he is interested in the England manager's job. I would welcome him but there is history. He is Argentinian, something in itself I have no problem with but, and I stress, the footballing history between our nations is bitter. The Hand of God, Beckham's petulance/Simeone's over-reaction and on a more personal level for Poch his soft foul on Michael Owen back in 2002 that resulted in Beckham scoring the penalty and England progressing.
Thoughts.

Hand of God was nearly 40 years ago. Falklands longer. Only wives hold grudges that long. You’re right that it could cause issues though. It shouldn’t but I can imagine the tabloid press stirring things up.

I’d have thought he’d be ok as the manager.

Or Steve Bruce, perhaps Alan Pardew? How about Tim Sherwood or Joey Barton?

If Klopp, Howe, Potter and Tuchel aren’t interested then maybe.

I agree that he would be good. I have to disagree about people with grudges. Our history with Germany goes back much further and until Brexit we were on very good terms. Many people still would not accept a German manager.

I don’t really mind who gets it as long as they are a strong candidate but it would be a shame for the FA process if they can’t show progress by appointing an English manager to lead the national team. Surely we are trying to present a pathway for young English coaches to aspire for this top role. There is also the question of how much change is required following the progress over last years.

Pep is supposedly interested also so it's likely to be Carsley for a year on the hope a Klopp or Pep fancy it

Other top footballing nations do not need to hire a foreign manager. The two foreign appointments were jokes. The only foreign manager I would accept would be Pep just because he doesn't have a strong affiliation with Spain considering that he is Catalan.

Couldn’t care less.

If we could get a little of the winning mentality that Argentina has into our perennial losers then I’d be all up for it.

I'm not particularly hung up on it, but for me the manager of any national side should be 'from' that country, be it by being born or through having lived their long enough to be a citizen etc

I've always felt that national sides should not only feature the best players from that country but also the best coaching staff as well.

It feels like you are trying to insinuate that people who don't want a German manager are somehow bigoted. I live in Germany, have a German wife and two of my kids are half German, so I'm certainly not anti-German or bigoted against Germans. It's just because it is supposed to be the national teams and when you start having foreign managers it dilutes that concept of country against country.

Foreigners that have lived in a country for a long time are not from that country. Players like Musiala are borderline and they should play for whichever country they most identify with. I draw the line at an adult like Greg Rusedski changing his allegiance especially when he didn't have a British accent marking him out as not being British.

It surprises me him saying this, although he's lived in England a while now this would make him hated in certain areas of Argentina - especially if he managed us to beat them!

I read Newcastle would want him to replace Howe if he gets the England job, that make more sense all round to me
