Not seen the words.
But until this evening. Why has nothing been said about the assaults they made.
I get the follow up isn't great and rightfully is talked about. But that's separate. Why were their original attacks on the police swept under the carpet.
"Four men, aged 19, 25, 28 and 31, were arrested on suspicion of assault and affray and had since been bailed."
Statements like the above appeared in all of the first reports of the incident.

As I said tho. Hardly anything When you compare it to whats been said by media. Mps etc etc. Its all been about police brutality. The shambolic 'lawyer' of the family being given the spotlight as he gives painful updates of the victims lasting pain.
I'm absolutely all for sharing how bad the policeman's actions were. Fine. They're wrong. But equally share exactly what made him do it. Show why that was wrong. So what made a policeman lose his mind in an instant after being physically abused by 2 people and almost having his own weapon taken away from him. Whilst also seeing his colleague punched 3 times and the other twice.

He wasn’t dealt with in an appropriate manner.
The "victim" was dealt with in appropriate manner right up until the point the officer kicked and stamped on his head..
If you're insinuating that he didn't deserve to be tasered, after he violently assaulted 3 police officers then trying to reason or debate with you will prove to be difficult..
The police rightly tasered him, as a result of his actions... That tactic was reasonable, given the circumstances.. had they detained him at this point, then job done.. use of reasonable force
What then followed was excessive and NOT considered use of reasonable force... The officer involved has rightly been suspended, pending investigation... That's it.. it isn't hard to understand.. if you're anti law enforcement, then fine.. no matter what I say or having facts in front of you will change your opinion

The point about focusing on the police officer is that, as a police officer, he is rightly held to a higher standard - or at least I hope he is.
As far as one can tell at the moment the original perpetrators and the police officer will face the consequences of their actions - that is as it should be.

You’re of course correct, should have booted him a few times, and harder.
Aren’t you one of the people who moans about the police at away games and home games like Norwich? Guess that’s different. He deserves it but you don’t.
In the spirit of reconciliation and happiness at the end of the Banter Era (RIP) and as a result of promotion I have cleared out my ignore list. Look forwards to reading your posts!

In the interest of balance Lee Anderson was very quick to leap to the defence of the police.
Funny that

That is not what I see. Of course without sound it is hard to know what was going on but they seemed to be minding their own business when the coppers went up to them and started pushing them around, they then responded violently. If I was a CPS officer and the only evidence I had were these two videos I would consider charging two of the civilians and one policemen. I have seen a not dis-similar event myself in Northern Ireland. Two anti British types came up to two soldiers and started verbally abusing them. A fight broke out and punches were thrown. The two civilians got 28 days in the local nick and the soldiers got 28 days in the glasshouse. Fair I think.

The police should all be arrested along with their commanding officer. Assaulting decent law abiding citizens with their faces is a disgrace. A lot of harm can be done to knuckles on faces, you know. You can break fingers and everything. Compo: £100k per digit and £100 for the dry cleaning. And £1m for counselling. Why didn’t they ask the bloke nicely? Maybe say please?
Back to my world, I get why there needs to be an investigation for the boot to the bonce but I can fully understand why he did it. In my view the bloke deserved it and more besides.
Aside from this incident, people have to decide whether they want a police force or not. If yes, it has to be empowered and properly supported in what it does. Of course, they themselves should be subject to the law like everyone else and what they can/can’t do regulated accordingly.
They have to be allowed to do a difficult and dangerous job and with it be some understanding of the stress they are put under. Interesting how so few people are interested in the injuries sustained by the police officers and the trauma they suffered just doing their job.
You have to remember there are people out there an awful lot nastier than those in the video. There are people that obey only their rules and the likes of you and me along with our police and others are nothing to them. They’ll kill you as soon as scratch an itch. So if you despise and want rid of the police, these kind of people are your alternative.
Just a view.

In the Rastafarian faith the term Babylon is used for a political system that is seen as oppressive or unjust

Remember, these are armed Policemen. In the most recent video, after all the punches, if you look extremely closely, the guy on the ground appears to have stripped the policeman’s firearm & has it under his body. In many other countries these men would have been shot & killed. How anyone can be critical of the policeman under those circumstances is beyond me.

I agree with you 100% we are aligned in our thinking on this issue... As demonstrated in the other thread...
I take issue with anti law enforcement, but it's clear as day that when the officer overstepped the mark and did NOT use reasonable force, when the "victim" was prone having been tasered (again rightly, bearing in mind his actions) then he should rightly be held accountable for his actions, hence the suspension and criminal investigation

There's enough of this in the other thread.
I don't profess to know many police officers, but the one I do wouldn't particularly enjoy your insinuation that her sex is a factor in how her colleagues might react (or treat her), especially in the way this soon-to-be-ex copper does. I
t's very old fashioned and, frankly, I would think quite insulting to suggest it.
When you say old fashioned, do you mean so old-fashioned that it's hard wired into us?

Because it doesn't suit their innocent victim agenda... The smart phone wielding member of the public who filmed it was eager to paint a picture, without showing any context as to why the officer may have acted the way he did, albeit excessively...
The original video points fingers at law enforcement, the new video, which is CCTV footage paints a different story.. but, doesn't suit the agenda of the person who filmed the tail end of it... But hey, law enforcement are all bad, blah blah..
The first impression and the assumptions made initially usually stick.

They are human beings
The officer saw this guy attack 2 female officers brutally
As a female, I'd be outraged if a fellow-officer reacted to someone punching me on the nose by kicking & stamping on their head.
Quite apart from the illegality, unnecessary extreme violence, sexism, & danger to the downed man's life, it could have put my life in even more danger by provoking furthe angry reactions from bystanders, potentially even a riot.
