Wilson Odobert, Burnley… on 11:47 - Jul 28 by 66notout
Super promising for a side relegated from the Prem? That’s one hell of a recommendation.
I think we have to be realistic. Until we get ourselves established we're looking at players like this. Maybe he'd be better than Philogene as he has at least some PL experience.
Not sure where all these forwards fit in, but we'll see. CDMs please!

“All these forwards”?!
He’s a left winger, where we currently have errrrrr…. No one!
Broadhead injured (and not good enough at this level) and Harness, who isn’t really a left winger.
RIP Sir Bobby

He's not really a left winger.
We would have: RW: Burns, Harness, Hutchinson LW: Broadhead, Odobert AM: Chaplin, Szmodics FW: Al-Hamidi, Delap, Hirst, Ladapo
I reckon Al Hamidi will be loaned out and Ladapo sold, so we may also bring in another centre forward.
Hutch was best by far in the 10 role (with Chappers). Delap and Burns for RW.
From what I've seen and my rovers mates Szmodics mainly left sided but can play up front a bit too. Lots of versatility up there with another striker coming in.

Mckenna has almost never put harness on the right wing. Once as a sub if i recall, but i feel like that was a very unique tactical thing when we were losing and desperate.

Harness, Ali, Ladapo won’t be part of plans. Broadhead injured. Lots to do in lots of positions still as McK already said. People who think the players I just listed can be included have little idea what is needed to be competitive in the premiership. AAL could be an exception as he is such an unknown but clearly he won’t play a large role this season and I’d suspect he’ll be out on loan when more come in.

Have no idea why people think Harness, a player who never really nailed a starting spot in league one, is an option for the premier league. I feel similarly about Taylor. These players need to be moved on asap, lovely chaps I’m sure and a part of our success, but we’re out of their league now.
In the spirit of reconciliation and happiness at the end of the Banter Era (RIP) and as a result of promotion I have cleared out my ignore list. Look forwards to reading your posts!

Taylor would have been a great option in the Championship but maybe we got promoted too soon for him to do well here. I'd agree Harness isn't good enough for the prem but he's a long way from being a starter anyway. There's only so much you can do in one transfer window and it'll take 2 or 3 for KM to have the basics he wants.

Would be a great signing, was a shining light in Burnleys poor season last year. However, they signed him for 12 million euros on a 5 year deal last summer.
He won't be cheap and probably more than Omari.

Although relegation they won't get what they may want ie Muric another one who is probably in the 15 million bracket and all those add ons .

Totally agree, don't see how they'd suddenly step up to be prem players.

I agree, I just put them in there as they're currently in the squad, but I ewpect them to be moved on.

You're starting to sound like frimley with burns or arnie with woolfenden. Broadhead's very obviously one of our best players. Give him a chance.
Broadhead can have moments in games, but then be largely anonymous. And as for Woolfie, well he did nothing yesterday , again, to convince he’s an even average centre back. Edmundson : Greaves looked by far a better combination . But having said that I’d still say our defensive is weak. We shall see.
