"Show some respect".. not rating a player as much as another poster isn't a lack of respect it's clearly a difference of opinion and only that. We had this last season when he was patchy.
If people are reasonable, fine. But not really a difference of opinion when some post stuff that is just patently drivel. You said we haven't seen him play well for a year - nonsense. And would have thought you would have learned from the Burns situation to be a bit more careful. The poster I responded to said he's made of glass. That doesn't stand up to scrutiny when he's played 57 out of 68 league games since signing.

Ridiculous comment. IIRC, he was our joint top scorer last season. Broady does have a patchy injury record, but he won't be playing week in, week out which will probably suit him, and he will be excellent as a back-up / rotation player.
Bottom line is that we actually need quality players to come in alongside the quality players we already have. The big concern we’ve all had is that after a few injuries the reserves that we have are a big drop off in quality from the first 16 or 16 players.
So imo it’s not that Broady is a bad player, but that we need to get someone as good or better to compete in his position so which ever one wears the shirt on match day we have another player just as good ready to replace them if/when necessary. Let’s remember, if Broady is good enough he’ll keep the shirt and if Clarke proves to be better then great, that’s good for the team as well. It’s a win, win.

I agree with this, we ideally want two players in every position with relatively little difference in ability between them.
Squad depth is going to count massively this year.

The fact they seem happy for him to go to Brentford and not us seems mad. We are a much bigger club as a fan base and history and we have the current Manager of the Season who can develop Jack.
They are simply very bitter we have sorted our sh1t out on and off the pitch much better than them.

If players like Broadhead, Chaplin had played for another Championship side last season and we had still won promotion (highly unlikely without either) fans would be shouting for the club to buy them now.
Same old problem with fans, they stop rating players who they see week in/week out and start going all erectile on players who they watched a few minutes here and there.
Hope Clarke becomes a fantastic player for us but he wasn't any better than Broadhead was last season. He also failed the last time he tried the Prem. Time will tell, but stupid comments about not seen it for a year re Broadhead is ridiculous.
I quite like Broadhead and think he could be a good squad player in the PL, he's good at finding pockets of space, his through balls are a menace and has a good touch on him, but to say he was better than Clarke last year is silly. Clarke has 100% been bought to play ahead of him, you can suggest that this a a fan problem but KMK clearly thinks he was too or we wouldn't be spending £20m on him.
Based on last year I don't think fans would be screaming out for us to buy Chappers either. He was fine but understandably declined year on year, lost form in the second half of the season and the same as Broadhead, has been replaced with another Championship player. He's another one who I think can contribute to us staying up but I wouldn't be buying him expecting him to be the missing link.

Played in 57 of the 68 league games we've played since he joined. And scored 21 goals in those 57 games. Hardly made of glass or particularly inconsistent. Without him we wouldn't be in the PL now. Some people need to show some respect.
I called him a fabulous player on his day, which he is, he has chipped in with some key goals and assists too.
Don't think saying his consistency has been an issue is hugely disrespectful if I'm honest, and certainly not worth an insult over.

I mean that just isn't true.
Broadhead is great he will be a good asset to have when he is back fit and has been super player for us. Clarke is a better player though, with a higher ceiling and it really isn't as disrespectful or outrageous to say that like some are making out here ?

I agree people should let the past go. I've come on this specific thread to discuss points about broady with a few other posters doing the same. That's it. No need for others to go on about my previous posting.
