I think he’s an excellent signing.
I think his profile is exactly what we would want in that inside left forward role. Not that explosive pace but a real glider of the ball and has fantastic footwork. Also such a clean striker of the ball.
Himself and Broadhead are quite similar in profile actually.

Ah, I’ll have to disagree there FB. I think Broadhead is a smashing player and a real asset. When fit (ahem) and firing he is a threat. Knows where the goal is, finds space and above all quick feet.
Assuming NB can get fit, he will be fine. As will Hirst.

You don’t know that for sure and football doesn’t work like that.
Early enquiries may well have seen Clarke our first choice and at the time it might have appeared unachievable so we chased Philogene instead. We may have chased Philogene for other obvious reasons. Just because we miss out on one signing and sign another is not proof they are second choice.
Clubs usually have multiple targets of similar standing and attributes. Those perceptions even change during the chase. | | | |

Sarmiento scored a few goals there's many who like him many who don't rate him as highly just because he did. Broadys the same for me. He can be excellent. We've seen it. But likewise he's also very patchy. Not great covering Davis. But as I said on his day he's brilliant.
He will be involved. But to say clarke being an upgrade on broadhead as disrespectful is OTT imo. | |

I'm loving the fact that McKenna and Ashton have analysed the last two seasons and gone:

Utter rubbish.
If players like Broadhead, Chaplin had played for another Championship side last season and we had still won promotion (highly unlikely without either) fans would be shouting for the club to buy them now.
Same old problem with fans, they stop rating players who they see week in/week out and start going all erectile on players who they watched a few minutes here and there.
Hope Clarke becomes a fantastic player for us but he wasn't any better than Broadhead was last season. He also failed the last time he tried the Prem. Time will tell, but stupid comments about not seen it for a year re Broadhead is ridiculous. |  | | |
