Getting the band back together… on 08:10 - Aug 27 by GlasgowBlue | So do we know which Oasis it will be? The classic line up or Beady Eye plus Noel? |
….apparently. High Flying Birds plus Liam. Disappointing if true, but I doubt anything will be confirmed on that front for ages.

Chris Sharrock and Gem Archer play in the high flying a birds and Liam’s band so I would imagine they are shoe ins. Boneheaded is playing with a Liam so I can’t see him not joining in. Not sure who the bassist with high flying birds is. I wonder if we will get the girl who plays a pair of scissors? [Post edited 27 Aug 2024 8:21]

….the Zutons. Ideally (realistically) the line up should be: LG NG Bonehead Andy Bell Starkey (plus Jay Darlington) But that won’t happen and I expect NG will prefer having his band around him. [Post edited 27 Aug 2024 8:32]

Noel fell out with Ringo’s boy becsuse he was moonlighting with the Who. Don’t think Alan White is playing any more and Rony McCaroll is a definite no. I hope Bonehead gets the gig.

Getting the band back together… on 09:45 - Aug 27 with 1315 views | bluelagos | Saw em in 97 at the NEC, Brum. The brothers had clearly had a row and didn't want to be there - it showed in their performance that shouted "disinterested". Would love to see em in say Dublin and make a weekend of it - but can imagine the price/demand will be something else so doubt I'll bother. Pay for 2 tickets, transport and hotel and looking at a tidy sum.

Sharrock on drums, Archer on guitar with Bonehead having a guest spot. Not sure if Bell come back since Ride have reformed and are releasing albums. Clam on bass ?

No, I suspect there will be quite a queue of people keen to post something to signify just how disintereted they are as a badge of honour. See also England in major football tournaments.

I never liked them either, but having seen today's photo of Liam, aged 51, I take my hat off to the f'cker - he looks like he's 30, the jammy git.

Getting the band back together… on 13:18 - Aug 27 with 1034 views | stonojnr | You'd want insurance they'll actually do the gigs and not fall out after the first one. I caught on Sky few weeks back one of their Dig out your soul gigs, and fair enough that was right at the end, and they clearly didn't give a f....anymore ,but they really were rubbish, I've seen tribute acts do better Oasis than that Oasis. Peak Oasis concert is Knebworth and I don think they'll reach those heights again on this or any tour they do. Plus you know full well it won't be a greatest hits thing, they'll save the big songs for the encore, play a few during just to keep you interested but I bet there are at least two solo sessions to showcase all the indivudal music they did and then a bunch from albums no one liked.

Haymarket station will be a nightmare. Probably better running back to Waverley to have half a chance of getting on a train.

….it certainly wasn’t the peak concert. Barrowlands, Earls Court, Maine Rd…..all better, to name just three. They plainly won’t play solo stuff, that’s why they’ve “reformed”. And to say they’ll save the “big songs” for the encore is ridiculous, which 2 or 3 of their 20 odd top 10 singles do you think they’ll save for the encore? Stop trying to be edgy, you just look a bit silly.

Think i'll wait to see the Glastonbury gig on BBC iPlayer (surely the main event they want to do), watch it, kind of wish I was there except they favour handing glastonbury tickets to the previous years attendees anyway, then save at least 300squid and maybe see another band at some point instead like Tame Impala. Mrss MVBlue wants to go but I think i'll put he mockers on that. Etihad stadium crowds and parking has reminded me of the chaos of big events. [Post edited 27 Aug 2024 14:08]

They said they won't be playing any televised gigs so Glastonbury is out. It's also before the gigs they have announced.

That was what was wonderful about seeing Echo and the Bunnymen last year, we were all mouthing every word of 'Ocean Rain' but no one had the disrespect to sing over Ian McCullough.

John Squire joined them onstage to play lead on Chamoagne Supernova. He's just toured with Liam, so woildn't be surprised if he put in an appearance at some point. If won't happen, but Weller played lead on the studio version of Supernova.

But interestingly he kept the drummer's seat when both bands clashed during the Live 8 weekend. Alan's brother Steve played drums for the Who that night. Zak stayed with Oasis for their gig oop north.

Agree Bloots. Knebworth is a legendary gig, but from where I stood they sounded terrible. I subsequently heard the radio broadcast, which sounded decent, but the mix from the stage on the day was lousy. That said, good to be a part of it. Always remember the chemical brothers being awesome that day. They played Setting sun. Great track.

That's my worry too dubbers! It was a bit like that the last time I saw them at Wembley. The crowd, or many of them, were just horrible. Very agressive. On the way home and where the Police use their horses to control the flow, some blokes next to us were trying to spook the horse and were giving it little digs. Total A holes. I suspect I'll get drawn in to the hype of getting tickets (fomo innit), but in some ways I might rather let sleeping dogs lie!
