Where we go from here is - we get right behind the team on Saturday at home to Fulham, and hopefully we will pick up our first point(s) of the season.
Its disappointing to lose, of course, but the league is/was what we need to concentrate on this season.

Two defeats in our first games in the Premier League against two of the best teams in Europe over the past seven years. One defeat against a lower league club "up for it in the cup" with a completely new team (except three) who have never played together before. They scored two goals from two chances, while we dominated the rest of the game. And two poor penalties.
If we lose on Saturday, it will be against an established team in the Premier League, who have bought well, and recently taken Man Utd to the last five minutes at Old Trafford.
No, it isn't a rut. For me, the season was always going to start after the international break, once we've had a chance to get the new players on the training pitch for a couple of weeks. We will get better as the season progresses.

I'd argue the bigger issue was we couldn't impose ourselves in the final third against a League Two defence, which shows why we're chasing Broja, Edouard, Foster etc. Fine in the build up but very little end product. | |

It's always a problem when we start those cup games with a second string or new signings who haven't played together. Some of those players who have barely played with each other looked pretty comfortable against Liverpool. Szmodics fits right in. Ogbene signed today!

Our side were simply clueless in attack and the usual in defence , never has it been more obvious that we need strikers whatever the cost we need them , broadhead is not a goal scorer and can’t finish ! We will rightly receive more stick from the footballing world than you could imagine and I think this will now finish off our top two chances there’s no coming back from this , play offs it is !
