I'd be very happy if this turns out to be true! The guy has been class every time I have seen him.

He may not have the physical presence of Delap, but he's an absolute menace and the ideal guy to trigger our press. He's a better finisher than he gets credit for too.

His press and workrate are good. The one thing for me, is that he's not so good at bringing others into play and has a habit of poor decision making (taking on a player or shooting) when there are better options. He wouldn't be a bad shout but I def feel he's be a Plan B or C as opposed to our first choice option.

Yes, in those aspects he fits the profile. Though, see my post below - a couple of areas for me that he's need to improve on to really be the player we need. A decent shout for us though.

Latte Lath on 10:18 - Aug 30 with 4404 views | Guthrum | I think the taller players were more for picking out in tightly-packed L1 and Champ defensive areas. We never really did the traditional "big man flick on" thing. Our balls over the top are more angled and landed on the ground for wide-men to run on to than punts at the head. Plus given the physique and skill of CBs at Prem level, we perhaps want forwards with strength and low centre of gravity, who can burrow underneath defences rather than trying to rise over the top.

Not looking at our primary target that we know of this window, who is 6'3. I don't think it's about flicking on, it's about general presence, hold up and the advantage it gives you at set pieces.

It's 'man looking' isn't it. Chappers is below eye level so everyone misses him.

Well we tend to go for a big lad which he clearly isnt is what im saying. Every other striker linked has been over 6ft. Latte Lath is a good player but hes not one to bring others into play.

Physicality and athleticism more than height I'd suggest - our system works best when we have someone who can hold it up as well as run in behind (receiving the ball in between the lines to drag defenders out and allow runners in behind, whilst also stretching defenders when we need to). It is a difficult skill to find players who can do both like Hirst and Delap - Moore gave us the hold up play but no in behind threat, and most recently Jackson the threat in behind but no real hold up play (and we looked a much easier team to defend against with either of those playing). Latte Lath from what I've seen is a brilliant in behind player, but not sure about the hold up play.

The deals won’t be linked at all. You’re looking at 20m for LL. GE will be a small fee around 1M depending on what kind of bidding war has happened it could have pushed higher.

Boro want him on loan. | | | |
Latte Lath on 10:58 - Aug 30 with 3275 views | HighgateBlue | It may be quite clever to go for someone who doesn't fit the 'big man' profile, because hopefully soon we'll have Hirst back, and so there will be two biggish no.9s in the squad. At that point, to have a third striker who brings different physical attributes might be no bad thing.

This feels a bit desperate to me. He's a one season wonder so far and maybe even a one hot-streak wonder at the end of that season. I'm sure i'm wrong but have my reservations.
