That's what I mean.

Everything mentioned about Broja so far has been along the lines of a loan with an obligation.

Nelson on loan either suggests that Broja has collapsed, or we've managed to play such hard-ball on him that we can now afford/justify an outright purchase.

If Borja signs permanently I can on;y imagine we've somehow driven the price down. Can't see us spending £30m this window on him.

Nelson would be a brilliant signing. He can play right wing, left wing and the number ten role according to transfermarkt, so could possibly provide competition for Clarke? I actually wonder what this means for Chaplin. If true. Part of me expects Phil to have his thesaurus out as we type (that isn't a euphemism).

Can’t we insist on what Aston Villa did with Sheffield United re Cameron Archer? I.e. buy Broja this season and then if we get relegated Chelsea have to buy him back

Makes sense if you think about it.

McKenna likes to have seven options for those three positions behind the striker. We currently have seven, but two are injured and one of them is Harness, who probably isn't up to it in the Prem.

If Nelson comes in then I imagine Harness moves out, and we've got five decent options until Broadhead and Burns are back (and six soon, because Broadhead will be back after the international break).

You're quite right - I think I'd forgotten about Ogbene because he's only been here five minutes himself!

I think my point still stands though - Nelson looks like a Harness upgrade.
