Blimey. That is certainly allowing some time. Expect a long stop off at Fleet services if it turns out to not be quite as bad as feared.

We're driving and leaving at 8 - the M25 was horrendous last week, and I know from experience the M3 roadworks are slow going as well.

Am thinking of going north as appear to be fewer roadworks that way and not a lot in it. Also going off on M4 would avoid main M3 roadworks as far as I can see, although only had a scant look.

I’m thinking m25 southbound, A3, come in from pompy way (parking that side of the river)

We’ll be good again... one day

I have done that route before. Also, M4 and A34.

As said earlier, it can be a pig of a journey.

With the M25 being as bad as it is right now, depending on where you start from, you might want to consider Cambridge, Milton Keynes, Oxford and the A34 down to Southampton. Will add about 20 miles, and is not all multilane (Cambridge to St Neots and around Buckingham), but it's not a bad route and will save a lot of time if there are huge delays around the M25.

I'm North of Bury, so this makes sense for me, but might not for those further South/East.

We’ve done that before and it worked well.

Think I’ll just trust Waze.

Leaving at 9:30 from Cambridge so feels pretty sensible. All mood music is to expect a terrible journey.

Upatowen - more importantly.

I know that was then, but it could be again..

Went M25 south, A3, M27 and was parked by 11.45.
