Russell Martin's woes 22:17 - Sep 30 with 3394 viewsmickymills

So he was angry last week.
Tonight he is hurt.
He says he blames himself, but the real message is that he blames the players, something that KMc doesn't do.

Really was. At least it would have been if I didn’t dislike him so vehemently for being a prize twot. As it was I quite enjoyed it.

As Micky says he was “blaming himself” when quite obvious to anyone watching he was doing the complete opposite and chucking his players under the bus. Absolute night and day from a McKenna interview, we should thank our lucky stars once more.

Not seen the interview, but he was doing the same towards the latter part of last season and I thought he had lost the players and they had no chance of going up but they beat Leeds and won the play offs.

He changed the style slightly in the play offs a were a tad more pragmatic but he appears to have reverted to his original playing style again and they are suffering.

Doesn’t come across as that likeable sort of bloke but I know someone who’s good mates with him and he’s meant to be a good bloke.

I see they have Arsenal away next week.

But he won the moral victory of possession.
It can really work being an emotionally-led manager, but it tends to fall apart as soon as results stop going your way. It is much better to be level-headed and think about the things that you can control.

Just caught up with his post match interview, proper threw his players under the bus.

Struggling to see how that motivates them for the next matches. Think RM could well beat EtH in the sack race which is a shame.

We need him to stay.

Currently we only need to find two more teams worse than us as Soton are screwed under RM.

Absolutely threw his players under the bus despite his team selection. Generally used "we" and "our" throughout the interview but switched to "them" and "they" for the figure pointing, but of course he blames himself.

Hope he hangs on in there for another 6 weeks at least.

He just gets it. And I bet the match day experience at Soton is incredible now.

I'm one of the people who was blamed for getting Paul Cook sacked. PM for the full post.
