"For Israel, already angry with Norway for recognizing the Palestinian state and over Eide’s criticism of Israel’s constant attacks on Gaza, Norway’s letter to the ICC may have been the last straw. Its government officials have responded by calling Norway “anti-Semitic”
Unfortunately for Israel, and for Jewish people around the world, I don't think people care that much anymore.
They have diluted the term so much, and they're losing the sympathy of the world that they've had since the horrific October 7th attack.
All people see now is the daily death of women, children and babies in Gaza, and now Lebanon, the complete destruction of the area, with seemingly a clear plan to wipe out the Palestinians completely and give the land to Israeli settlers.
Surely they can see that all this won't lead to a safer future for Israelis - I mean maybe it will in the short term, but certainly not for the long term and anyone left on the Palestinian side when this does 'finish' will vow to get their revenge one day.

I think that's a pretty decent summary, especially your last para (with nobs on). Having said that, I do think the UN has a boner for Israel - hiw many countries have been kicked out over the years / how many terrible things have happened in that time? One of this article talks of repeated transgressions against UN resolutions, but has any country ever been subject to so many? Genuine question, not rhetorical...
Has anyone ever looked at their own postings for last day or so? Oh my... so sorry. Was Ullaa
I have to admit there have been a number of occurrences where people question the conduct of Israel to be met with a claim of antisemitism. I see the actions of Israel as something very different to my opinion on Jewish people and their faith - I'm not sure why those lines get blurred other than to weaponize words a debate and push one's own political ideology.
I often think the label or suggestion of antisemitism towards someone who is not anti semitic is just as damaging to the Jewish faith - and we're seeing evidence of that now as has been pointed out by people questioning if sympathies are being diluted.
Worst of all, Palestinians and Israeli citizens are baring the brunt of this geopolitical pissing content and made to feel guilty about practicing their faith. Hamas and Netanyahu have gone way beyond what is 'right for the people' and it is really dragging good, god fearing citizens into the darkness.

It's a fair point, and one I think that GB brought up in a post a few weeks (or months?) ago.
There are countries in the UN who hate Israel and want to see it punished for every transgression, whilst other countries get away with murder - literally. But I guess we expect more from a country like Israel than we do from despotic ME or African countries, doesn't make it right, of course.

"whilst other countries get away with murder - literally."
Israel is literally 'getting away with murder' on a massive scale.

Its not really though.... it may think it is for now, but the repercussions will be felt for decades. I mean it's entirely conceivable that at some point in the future, there will be a massive (possible catastrophic) revenge.

That's it I think. To some extent we try to hold Israel to a higher standard, not least because we are nominal allies, share many cultural links and, perhaps, feel a little guilt about what we were instrumental in imposing upon the Palestinians in 1948.
So in some ways there could be a viable argument there that we unfairly hold Israel to a higher standard (although I'm not sure how much I agree with that), but that doesn't go even a thousandth of the way towards justifying the ongoing slaughter and displacement of tens of thousands of civilians, or the arrogant, belligerent approach to the UN and the rest of the international community.
This from the current issue of Private Eye about the editor of the Jewish Chronicle, currently suspended from the Telegraph for fake reports in the Jewish Chronicle.
"With Efune in charge, it is even possible that Jewish Chronicle editor Jake Wallis Simons might return to the paper's opinion pages. Previously a frequent contributor, he has been absent since 15 September. His piece that day declared that: "These days, 'Netanyahu' has joined 'Zionists' as a cypher for 'the Jews', an argot of anti-Semitism that allows a bigot to express hatred without censure.
But this was rather overshadowed by the fact that the same weekend Wallis was obliged to remove a series of fake reports on the war from his own paper's website and take 'full responsibility' for publishing them in the first place."
Of course, it is possible for people to be antisemitic whatever words they use but tarring people like me for being critical of Netanyahu is both outrageous and Orwellian.

Criticism of Israel is not anti semitic unless it lazily throws in millennia old tropes.
Netanyahu and his cabinet are war criminals. The illegal settlements should be demolished and the lands returned to the Palestinians.
There you go, two legitimate criticisms of Israel that are not anti semitic. It’s very easy to do.

edit. odd downvote from Jaycee who either doesn't believe Bibi and co are war criminals and that the settlements are illegal, should be demolished and the and retuned to the Palestinians, or wants to fall back on millenia old tropes such as the one he alluded to when he posted earlier in the week that Starmer and his government had been captured by (?)

Perhaps you need to tell that to the Israeli state.

I completely agree but the editor of the Jewish Chronicle might well regard what you say about Netanyahu as antisemitic.

Downvote was for the irony. Being critical of Israel has often been weaponised as antisemitism and is a terrible thing. I believe even you have been guilty of that as far back as the Corbyn days. It's one of the things about this forum that kept me away - often it was blatantly dishonest.
Those of us just desperate for peace have often been silenced for fear of being labeled the very things we hate - and have fought most of our lives against. I'm not going to engage more than this reply or the odd downvote btw, so go ahead have the last word, deny what I've said or insinuate I'm something I'm not. I'll just try harder to avoid your posts in the future.

I have to admit, this is how I have felt on a number of occasions too - you're not alone in your rationale
