Gary Lineker has lost my respect 23:51 - Nov 2 with 17835 viewsMVBlue

One eyed fan ex Club owner brushing over the penalty telling Hart he should be careful talking about things Chaplin penalty or he won't work on mood again. Yeah was it a joke? Disgrace all round ref and Linekar.

Give over, he was clearly joking as he knew it was a pen. Both pundits in agreement that it was blatant and that Philips was unlucky. Not sure how anyone can grumble about the analysis.

I used to really like Lineker but now find him very smug and sarcastic . If the Chaplin incident happened to one of the big six they would be going on about it for days. As it’s only little old Ipswich they just gloss over it and move on swiftly.

He was the golden boy of England after Italia 1990. He was good old Des Lynams prodige, taking match of the day into the new age. But he's recently an entitled millionaire with bias. Time for change.

I thought the highlights were decent and the comments fair.
All agreed it was a pen and no second yellow.
They weren't laughing at our expense. Lineker know Leicester dodged a bullet today.
Maybe direct your ire on the ref/VAR. They're the true villains of the piece.

On a side note, Joe Hart is actually a decent pundit and co comms. He was good for the Celtic game in Europe a few weeks back and seems to be spot on most of the time.

Always that he was a bit of a diva but to be fair, he is winning me round.

All the other pundits elsewhere seem incapable of putting their bias aside for 5 minutes. Sky is just awful and how the f Steve McManaman still works for BT is mental. It's like they deliberately pick players who were nobbers whilst they played and shove them down your throat. Someone mentioned Savage today, what an utter clown he is.

He's merely lost my respect. I remember Des Lynam and can't imagine he'd get caught up in favouring his team in an analysis summary. The Ref was a disgrace yes, Tim Robinson, a disgrace.

Add Darren Ambrose to that list. His commentary is insipid, just agrees with everything he sees.

At least no Shearer tonight.

Linekar was just japing being Leicester, but he knew the penalty was a dead cert.

Linekar is past it though, last season for him on MoTD, need a new lead presenter, not sure who will take the hot seat for next season though.

Matt Holland would be a good shout;)

He was joking, twice. It’s annoying because he lets his bias towards his hometown team come over far too often and he appears to have disdain for clubs he views as being lesser. it makes light of the injustice suffered by a team in a relegation fight.

Maybe it’s the age we live in where there is more of a “banter” culture between the pundits, but Des Lynam and a Jimmy Hill would have taken the situation far more seriously. At the end of the day it’s Match of the Day not Men Behaving Badly.

And yes, there is an off button. Nobody is forced to watch Match Of The Day, but I’ve been watching it for over 50 years and it’s supposed to be partyof our football culture with its iconic music.

Lynam was a class presenter who knew his limitations so he wasn't going to get involved in the analysis.

Yes motd disappointing, if Vardy had scored a goal of Leif's quality they would have been raving about it. Lineker seems to be going through the motions perhaps the show should have a new host annually and new pundits each month to freshen up motd. Town fighting an uphill battle to get credit or be fairly treated by pundits or match officials at present as they are not an established PL side....yet!

It was a joke, I don't think he was in all seriousness suggesting it shouldn't be a penalty and he also agreed Kalvin Phillips was unlucky to be sent off. Actually quite refreshing to see them acknowledge we were hard done by, but as it was the final game and the programme was being wrapped up there was no discussion on how ultimately it may have cost us the win.
