Was talking through the game on the drive home from PR with my son yesterday, and we were commenting on how massively Omari has developed in his time with us. When he first got here, he seemed to get the ball, run down the wing, do a series of step overs, then get tackled or deliver the ball safely into the arms of their keeper. He didn’t really add much. Little glimpses, but not game changing. But now! Wow, what a player. Absolutely pivotal to the team. Strong, quick, so intelligent in his play. Incredible in tight situations. Runs his nuts off. Rarely makes a poor decision. Strong in the middle. A threat going forward. Executes the press so well. There can’t be many players better than him in the Prem on the basis of the last two games. And he will only get better - he’s only 21!! I’ve seen many talents since watching Town since the mid 70’s, but he is special.

He really is special. Quite rare to have that level of technical ability combined with his level of athleticism and work rate, its frightening how much work he gets through. Leaves absolutely nothing out there and to do it for 90+ minutes at that intensity, he's a monster.
He's taken to the premier league like a duck to water, I thought against Liverpool, Man City & Spurs he was the 1 player that wouldn't look out of place in the opposition side, which is probably the highest praise you can give him. Same was true yesterday, he was a constant thorn in their side and showed so much quality on the ball.

If he can add a few goals he will go to a top 6 side surely, the amount of pressure he can absorb and come away with the ball is remarkable

For me Hutchinson was the best player on the pitch. His rate of improvement is astonishing.
He’s one of the best players I’ve seen here in a very long time. It is a privilege to watch him play.
The number of times he drew in an opponent (or two, or three!) in the first half yesterday and then skinned them in the tightest of circumstances was jaw-dropping to me. I honestly don't think I've seen any other player put in a 45 minutes of that specific type anywhere, ever.
I guess there's a bit of luck involved and things going right, but it was truly extraordinary 45 minutes, and the maturity he's showing now suggests he won't shy away from doing that against anyone. Teams will have seen that and will double up on him constantly now, releasing space for everyone else.
My favourite 45 I've seen from any Town player ever, capped by a goal, and there's a tear or two in my eye as I type this. Phenomenal.
That was his best game in a Town shirt, and while it might sound like a backhanded compliment, by a long way.
He looked quicker and stronger than he has done before, managing to accelerate away from players and hold them off more than he has before. At the start of the season he had a habit of holding onto the ball for too long and getting eased off it.
He was very good at Tottenham especially in the late stages keeping the ball up the pitch, but last night was something else and really gave us a attacking outlet the whole first half.
This McKenna chap knows how to find a gem and then develop them.
Look at how Davis, Hutchinson, Delap, Hurst, O'Shea etc are all settling into Prem league football far quicker than I ever expected / hoped they would.
In addition he has taken slightly older and more experienced players like Tuanzebe, Morsy, Burns, Burgess and found more from each of them as well
Now throw in the likes of Johnson, Greaves, Clarke x 2 and Taylor who are coming back from injury or not quite there yet (J Clarke), and it is quite extraordinary really.

Yes there has to be luck, but there also has to be the confidence to allow things to happen and then exploit them. He always backs himself to come away with the ball.
Don't think I've seen that since Thijssen

He'll go for as much as Delap. Best player on the pitch by a mile yesterday and there were some brilliant performers out there along with him.
I'm guessing Chelsea have no buy back? If not, we're going to make a mint off him.

Big up for Omari. Good to see some recognition of just how good he has been lately.
Was absolutely immense at Tottenham and again yesterday.
Deservedly Player of the match on sky and in TWTD ratings.
Scored the goal, yesterday, yet at the end of the game as he walks past the North , it’s the Liam Delap Ole Ole that is sung loud and clear. Now I get that , that is an easy one and Delap also played well….
but I think one of the elements why Omari signed here (apart from KM) was as he was so well loved for a young player last season. and his song isn’t getting much singing this season… maybe cos of the Chelsea line and him now being our own player.
Do we need a new song? or just sing the old one more?

Dont forget Sammy
Sammy has not been mentioned, but I thought he was excellent yesterday. His work rate and pest rate was off the scale and he offered threat. He never gave their defence a moments peace and they had to watch him the whole time while nursing their bruises. I’ve been very impressed with him.

Now it's possible I completely misread the situation, but I genuinely felt that ManU only brought on Luke Shaw because Hutch was giving them loads of problems. Shaw came on and on more than one occasion tracked Hutch across the pitch from left to right. I'm convinced that substitution was aimed purely at stopping Hutch. I could be wrong, but if right, an amazing compliment to Hutch that a ManU manager felt he had to put an England international on, just to stop Hutch causing problems.

Possibly although I just presumed they switched to 4 at the back from a 3 which in turn negated the space down each channel.

I think you're right, those were the opinions of the commentators on the stream I was watching, Graeme Le Saux and someone else who's name Ive forgotten!

Absolutely that, I think. He had to. Omari gave him no choice in the matter. Omari owned Amorim's first United game. But Amorim will learn from it.
