In my opinion Farage is a racist. The vast majority of Muslim immigrants contribute positively to European societies. Those that want to do Europeans harm because of warped Islamist views are few and far been.
At some point, however, we do need to look at this mathematically. If it is a statistical inevitably that a small fraction of people will drive their car indiscriminately into civilians enjoying their lifes peacefully, at what point do we have a moral obligation to confront this issue?
It's disheartening, but calling everyone that disagrees with the current status quo around immigration racist or thick and belittling their opinions will only serve to push them towards racists looking to hijack terrible events.
I think pro-immigration people need to listen and refine immigration policies to reflect the reality of the past two decades. |  |

I don't care for farage, I don't follow him. Don't really give him the time of day just like most other political people. I do however have a dislike for people being given a label esp in this thread where they haven't actually done anything other than show a concern about a bigger picture.
I have a family friend who received a letter the other day advising police would now be needed at school pick ups as groups of men have been pulling kids aside taking selfies and telling them how good they look. Kids badger kids. That doesn't automatically pull everyone from that specific culture into a bad person pot.. but there is an alarming increase in problems, especially over the last 15-20 years. Its getting bigger across different types of crime.
Does that mean standard crime or similar crimes aren't committed by other cultures or nationalities, no. But the increase in these incidents are a scary thought of what things will be like in another 20 years.
I'll leave it there because I don't want to be given a label that I don't deserve to have. But I do wish people wouldn't simply believe that 1 man turns peoples heads. He doesn't. Actions do. |  |

My first thought on this was 'Islamic extremists which was probably a thought that crossed many minds. The information that Is coming out is very confused though. ITV does seem to have been a Saudi immigrant but on the one hand the Saudi authorities are said to have warned Germany of his extremist views, on the other he has apparently tweeted about the dangers of Islam and islamisation if Germany.
I think the only safe thing to say that it is best to wait and find out the truth rather than launch in with potentially inflammatory guesses a la Farage. |  |

With regard to last nights post there appears utter confusion on this. On the Guardian feed at 9am:

It doesn’t really match with him being a doctor, anti this or anti that so I stand by what I said above. What does strike me is that firstly Farage and his nonsense are irrelevant. The last thing needed is giving that creep the oxygen of publicity. That halfwit knows nothing but a love of himself. Ignore.
Secondly, not something for this board, but due to past fun and games I do or should I say did have a reasonable awareness of what the people who protect us are up against. The bad guys only have to get it right once. The good guys have to get it right every single time.
The peace dividend externally is over (the rise of the dictators and nut jobs) and internal threat is ever increasing. I don’t care if we have recession, inflation, stagflation, Starmer’s disappointed with the free food at Arsenal or Reeves doesn’t know the difference between an eclair and an economy. The money has to be found.
The cost of ruined lives in the Magdeburg murder is beyond comprehension. The support of people who do their very best to protect people here has to be first priority.
