Marlon Harewood missing an open goal when loan here in the late 90s- can’t remember who it was against but I seem to remember he hits the post from a few yards out with all the goal open.

Toure's corner was a weird thing. The game itself was awful, and one of the lowest of low games I have ever been to in person. We grudgingly had a bit of hope something might come of that corner, and when Toure did the deed - it felt like me and the people around me collectively decided it was more fun to laugh rather than moan and groan.
So, I will always remember his corner fondly, as well as his coy look to the stands and the embarrassed wave as it was a welcome bit of comic relief in a game that was terrible in a terrible period of our history.

That was right in front of me at Churchmans end. Couldn’t believe it or understand how it was possible to miss. Was it against Forest? It was about the worst miss I’ve ever seen. And there’s been a few!

I remember that well, and if I recall correctly it was a season where we needed a point or 2 to get automatic promotion. I do believe that miss played back over and over in my head during the close season.

Against Oxford. He was on loan from Forest so that's maybe why they're in your head.

Agree, that was the most bizarre bit of play I have ever seen.
I mentioned Toure in another post, he basically went from us (Championship) to play non league in France, so that is where we were at that time as a club.
AAH if he does go on loan I would doubt he will play any higher than league one and should never be taking pens.

Grant Leadbitter’s corners Grant Leadbitter walking out of the tunnel Grant Leadbitter
Been waiting for this, he was utterly awful at dead balls, never cleared the first man.
For me, a real low was Lincoln away in the FA Cup, celebrating wildly as we scored a late winner through Alan Judge, before the creeping realisation of how far we’d fallen slowly set in.
