Bringing in a keeper is the right thing to do 12:21 - Feb 3 with 4854 viewstextbackup

But we have a situation now where Muric knows he’s probably done here, Slicker thinking he doesn’t have a hope, and Walton still neither the number 1 or number 2.

Can’t help but think this could have been dealt with far better.

We’ll be good again... one day

Ideally we would have just got Rushworth in the Summer. He was the target.

Palmer a good keeper though, he has working hands which should make thing slightly easier.

Muric needs to be done. And our contract with goalkeeper.com needs to be terminated. Their “head of data science” never worked in pro football. But did work at Tesco. Next fans forum some serious questions need to be asked.

It hasn't worked out.

At the end of the day, Ashton is a former goalkeeper, so his judgement should be good and not purely reliant on a data company.

Everyone knew that despite some of Muric's attributes, he had struggled for confidence in a relegation fight the previous season.

Definitely some questions worthy of being asked. Unfortunately the questions that actually get asked will be along the lines of "So, Kieran, what's your ideal Sunday?".

You ain't a beauty but, hey, you're alright.

Slicker must know, and realise, he needs some experience before he gets thrown in at the deep end. Walton will know he will always have a fight on his hands to get into the team - any PL or Championship team will have 2 keepers in competition.

Even if Muric is done, all 3 must know with Walton out, we need to bring someone in.

Zactly.

Incorrect. 'Everyone' knew that when he came into the Burnley team at the end of the season he played well, and many of their fans thought he could have kept them up if he'd been selected earlier. But apart from that...

Muric's mistakes costs them at least 2 games in that run-in that he played in.

All keepers makes mistakes, so maybe he is unlucky that his just appear so critical

Generally, when a keeper makes a mistake - it costs a goal.

Certainly Muric hasn't worked out, for sure.

Walton's injury has made it a lot worse. If he wasn't injured, we'd be staying with the three for the season.

At least CW’s injury happened just before the window shut rather than just after!

I'd have to agree to differ on that one.

I've been a supporter of his, and wanted it to work out. But it seems untenable now.

It's such a tough position, for the player themselves and management. Usually they're either in or not, unlike outfield positions where player can be gradually introduced and stake a claim by being brought on as a sub and if you're dropped you can still get chances off the bench.

As the dad of a goalkeeper I have sympathy for Muric. It can feel such a lonely position when things aren't going well.

Palmer costs a lot more than £2m given the impact it has on Muric’s value / sell-on potential to drop him down the pecking order like that.

Could result in £100m if he keeps us up though!

We put Slicker in net in the Prem, he plays badly, it's disastrous for his development and reputation. Hugely high risk. Glad we're not even contemplating it.

And bring in someone as well as Palmer?

Not beyond the realms of possibility we shift Slicker and Muric on loan and get another couple in.

Muric should be done here, blokes stealing a living. Was mouthing off to our fans getting on his back for p1ssing around with the ball for the 6th time in the 2nd half Saturday. Hope he never plays for us again.

That's dumb though because Muric was trying to fulfil the manager's instructions in those moments. You should be calling out McKenna instead. And perhaps McKenna will find a club whose fans are more willing to accommodate his tactics.

Explains why McKenna has now decided to buy another keeper.. Highly doubt he was telling Muric to stand on the ball for 10-15 seconds every time for no reason, when drawing.
