PJH RIP 11:25 - Feb 10 with 8414 viewsPhilTWTD

Just been told the very sad news that long-term poster PJH died before Christmas. He will be remembered on here in particular for his memories of Sir Alf Ramsey's team but also just for being a lovely bloke, who I'm sure most regulars will have had a chat with at some point over the years. RIP Paul.

Very sorry to hear this news, his posts were always informative and from the many tributes on here, he had a positive impact on those he met.

RIP PJH

It's 106 miles to Portman Road, we've got a full tank of gas, half a round of Port Salut, it's dark... and we're wearing blue tinted sunglasses.

That's very sad – he was a really interesting, insightful poster here, friendly too and seemed an absolute gentleman.

Very sad news – I had the pleasure of going to football in the car from Woodbridge with Paul for a year or two along with a family friend, and he was an incredibly positive man when it come to all things ITFC, even during some really dark times under MM and Evans. He had a great knowledge of ITFC history and very interesting to listen to as a younger fan myself. Very sad news, but I’m so glad he got to see us back in the top flight on the back of back-to-back promotions before he passed, I’m sure that’s how we all wish to go one day... knowing ITFC has been left in a good way.

RIP Paul/PJH, once a Blue, always a Blue.

Paul very kindly gave Seb a couple of little ITFC pennants.

He was an absolute gent, whose ITFC love and knowledge surpassed anyone I know.

I feel privileged to have enjoyed his company.

My condolences to his family and friends.

Blimey. That is very sad news.

Met up with TLA a couple of times before games with Newcy and on one such occasion met PJH. Very nice guy. Remember him PMing me a few years ago when I was having a hard time with a couple of things. His posts on the team of 61/62 will go down in legend on here and rightly so.

RIP

Very sorry to hear that. I met him only once or twice, but had interactions on here, too. Good bloke.

RIP Paul.

Didn't have the honour of meeting him, but he was always a proper gent on here.

We met Paul many times at away games. I don’t think he missed a game for many years.

I remember him telling me he hated Roy Keane so much that he even stopped going to games for a while.

He amazed me with his knowledge about Town and must have owned nearly every book published about the team.

We did say not long ago that we hadn’t seen him at away games recently.

RIP Paul. A true Town fan.

Hi everyone,

Firstly, my name is Craig, and I'm the son of Paul - known to many of you as PJH.

This thread has been brought to my attention and I just want to say a massive 'thank you' to each and every one of you who posted on here. Reading through the various messages and stories about dad has been a wonderful comfort to us as a family.

As I'm sure many of you know or, at least, wouldn't be surprised that dad had been a season ticket holder since he was a young child, all the way through to his passing at the age of 73. I was a bit late to the party before dad finally succeeded in taking me to my first game in the early '90s. Needless to say, I was instantly hooked. From here on in we had season tickets together up to the present time, including sharing many an away trip as well.

I have to be honest and say this season could be my last. Not having him sat beside me in the stands doesn't seem right.

We are now in the process of clearing some of his belongings and, amongst the various bits and pieces, is a reasonable collection of Town programmes from 1990-1995 and 2001-2010, including some away ones. This isn't a complete collection, however.

Anyway, these are available to a good home if any of you are interested. All we ask is whether you could collect them from Woodbridge, and add a donation of your choosing to his fundraising page at https://paul-holden.muchloved.com/

We will be keeping them for a couple of weeks. If there is no interest by then, then we will look at other means.

I will be creating a separate thread advertising these as well, but wanted to add our gratitude to you all 'personally' first.

Please feel free to send me a private message.

Kind regards,
Craig

That's gutting. I loved seeing his posts reminiscing about the Ramsey days.

Rip Paul.
