Just simple things.
We allow to many crosses into our box. We always always done. It Hurts you more at this level.
It seems to be allowed as no matter who plays on that right-hand side they never stop the crosses.
Davis has definitely got better at 1 to 1 defending. But he still looses his man far to easily at the back post.
Fix these and most the goals won't happen. |  |

We don't "essentially have 4 strikers on the pitch". Our defence isn't good enough, I'm still to be convinced that any of this seasons defensive signings have been an upgrade (Palmer aside who is clearly an upgrade on another of this seasons signings).³ |  | | |

I’ve been saying since the start of the season how awful we are in defence. Individually I admire most but together O’Shea and Greaves are very poor. We have no left back unless Townsend plays and as far as right back goes McKenna still has no bloody idea. Awful defence yet all the blame gets forced onto Muric. |  | | |

For a long period my focus has been on our forwards for sure, score a goal and the game dynamic changes, teams chase and leave gaps making it both easier to keep the ball and easier to hit on the break however you have to be able to 1) get a goal ahead, 2) have the players that can control the game against a team pushing forward, I’m now unconvinced by any department of the team, but that’s what relegation form can look like.
That’s not saying no player looks good or no player has improved or no player is in form, their has been incremental improvement in many places but we need to face facts, the who squad isn’t at the level required at the moment.
To answer the Op, it feels like teams score practically every purposeful attack they have, of course that’s not true but it means it’s way to easy to score when you get close to our goal. Crosses, runs with the ball into our 18yard box, transitions from positions of strength in the opposition half all go against us. | |

The problem with blaming Godfrey is that it ignores the rest of the team and our set up. They isolated Godfrey against one the best players in the Prem. It wasn’t Godfreys fault specifically - They’d rehearsed that ball and moving our midfield to create the gap.
We just aren’t good enough to deal with it.
