Keepers - Palmer, Walton, Muric (give to a charity shop)

Defenders - Burgess, Wolf, Townsend, Johnson, Greaves, O’Shea, Clarke, Axel

Midfield - Burns, Mass, Morsy, Taylor, Humpries, Ogbene

Attack - Chaplin, Broadhead, Omari, JP, Hirst, SS, Clarke

May have missed a name or two, but from who will likely still be here…

C.Midfield is a massive area to look at… is it? And need another striker (STILL)

you've missed Al-Hamadi mate.

A few people have suggested Axel won't stay which would be a shame but looking at that, we are a couple of central midfielders and strikers away from having a seriously impressive squad.

Be interesting to see if we are to go down and lose Delap, that maybe SS would play that forward role again like he did last season in the champ.

Assuming Al Hamadi stays fit and keeps getting minutes at Stoke between now and the end of the season, I see no reason why he wouldn't be a perfectly good 2nd or 3rd striker in the Champ - still leaves us 1 short though.

You're assuming that Davis and Delap are on their way out?

CM is just a massive vacuum........

4th, behind Hirst, A N other and SS…

So maybe that would see so little mins that he’d be better off elsewhere for his career

Wouldn't be surprised if Mass goes back to Australia this summer.

No idea, think he’s played once, scored, then got injured?

Departures for me:

Muric (take what we can get and move on)
Ben Johnson (big wages, nothing special, hopefully someone will take him)
Tuanzebe (regrettable one, but can't see him staying)
Phillips (loan ends)
Cajuste (as above)
Enciso (as above)
Godfrey (as above)
Delap (big dough)
Luongo (thanks for the memories)
Al-Hamadi (take a fee)

Perhaps 1 'bigger' on on top, maybe a Davis or O'Shea if the money is right.

We would still be left with a strong squad, as you say some help for Hirst and a future proofed CM would be top of the shopping list as well as bringing Humphreys back in to the fold. Potentially a pair of fullbacks depending on the departures.

I think if McKenna stays, then Davis and Hutchinson will stay. I think McKenna rates both very highly and sees so much potential in them, but I am not sure the wider football community rates them as highly as Ipswich and McKenna, so any other team’s valuation will not match ours and therefore they won’t buy them. Just a guess. And if McKenna does leave, I am sure he will sign them both.

I would think O’Shea and Tuanzebe are most likely to be poached, other than Delap, as they are the most obviously Premier League standard players in this team. But both are replaceable in the championship.

They'd all laugh at me if they knew what I was trying to do. To create a new strain of super-wine in half-an-hour with a fraction of nature's resources and a FOOL for an assistant. 'Bernard Black, he's mad,' they'd say, 'he's insane, he's dangerous.' Well I'll show them! I'll show them all!

If that gets us up ,we'll then a lot ot them won't cut it in premiership.,so another 100 million spend on more players to grind out a,survival, alas, I fear rinse and repeat, oh I love the premiership lol

I was having a think about how I would like it to look actually, although aware people may disagree:

GK: Palmer, Walton, Slicker
RB: Tuanzebe, H.Clarke, Johnson
CB: O'Shea, Greaves, Woolfenden, Burgess, Baggott
LB: Davis, Townsend
CDM: Morsy, Taylor Luongo,
RW: Burns, Ogbene, Hutchinson
CAM: Chaplin, Hutchinson*, Szmodics*, Humphreys
LM: Broadhead, Philogene, Szmodics
ST: Hirst, Al-Hamadi

*Secondary position.

- Muric, J.Clarke & L.Delap depart - anything above £60m for the collection would be a good number.
- New CDM (F.Downes)
- New ST (E.Riis)

I think Burgess is a flight risk too. Unless I’m wrong his contract is up and he’s (whatever the rights and wrongs) blocked by Greaves. At his age I think he’ll be hoping for a decent length contract, good money and first team football at least championship level. At the very most he’s only getting 2 of those things with us.

I can't see anyone taking Johnson on the money he is on. But he should be a more than competent full back at Championship level. I could see Morsy taking a big Saudi pay day this summer and O'Shea becoming captain. Our midfield is going to need a complete rebuild this summer whatever league we are in.

I'd like J. Clarke to stay, I think he could be huge next season.

Palmer
Tuanzebe Woolfenden Greaves Davis
? Morsy
Hutchinson Philogene Clarke
Hirst

Walton, Burgess, H.Clarke, Townsend, Burns, Humphreys, Taylor, Szmodics, Chaplin, Broadhead.

That looks strong, with a couple of choice additions, namely CM and ST. I imagine some of the above will leave, but it could largely be a 1 in, 1 out on those.

Assumes we could move on Johnson, Ogbene, O'Shea, Delap, Muric if there's a market for them. O'Shea and Delap are the 2 that will be most coveted I would think.

I could perhaps see it on a free to one of the promoted sides. We couldn't expect a fee for him but equally we didn't pay one. Maybe a Sheffield United if they go up might think he's got valuable PL experience for them, but I agree the market will be small.

I would really like O'Shea to stay but he's probably the 1 (aside from Delap) that we could get the biggest fee for.

I'm really surprised people expect Omari to stay. Look at his pedigree, his minutes this season, and his general play. Yes, his goals and assists are low - but he's playing for a very poor side. Look at what established clubs paid for the likes of Morgan Gibbs White, Summerville etc over the past few years. He 100% goes for £40m this summer.

Omari is the one for me. I just hope our valuation is higher than other clubs are willing to pay. McKenna staying would also be key to convincing him to give us a year as well I think.

Id be amazed if we saw much uplift on Omari.

Gibbs White had a few good seasons in the Prem when he was signed.
