Now the pressures off and the players know our fate maybe we might see one or two wins before the end of the season which would be nice but either way can’t wait until next season , going to games every week fully expecting to lose or scrape a draw if we are really lucky isn’t fun , the step up is a lot bigger than I think most of us expected , go down with some pride hopefully then have an enjoyable season next year and in reality we should be in the top 2-6 all season even taking into account losing delap, Cajuste & Phillips plus maybe one or two others. The squad we will have will be plenty good enough again even taking into account whether we keep the manager or lose him we should still have a great season. Then next time we are in the PL we will do it without the need to make 13 new signings in a summer which was our main issue this season. Depends on a lot of factors in my opinion.
1. McKenna - are we going to have another summer of is he staying or not?
2. Cutting the fat - we have many players e.g. Muric, Johnson, Broadhead etc who are surplus to requirements (I include Broady as we have signed Clarke and Philogene and don't see them going)
3. Re-building the midfield
4. Restoring team spirit - where is this leadership group?
5. Replacing Delap - as good as Hirst is he will likely get injured and won't play more than 20 games.
6. Getting off to a good start, we seem to be a momentum team under McKenna we need 4 wins out of first 5 to regain our confidence.
7. Transfers - actually buying players to play a position in the team rather than possible future value.
8. We MUST beat the scum - this is getting beyond a joke now.
We are all hopeful we can bounce back up but look at Luton. | | | |

I think yesterday proved we’re cooked. The gap is pretty much insurmountable now.
Wolves are the only side we’d have any chance of catching and they’re clearly better than us.

Wake up and smell the coffee and stop trying to rearrange the deck chairs on the titanic ! We are ten points from safety with goal difference we won’t get close to securing another 10 points this season that’s without wolves getting more points which they will.
The bookies have us as 1/25 to get relegated and I believe we had a 98% chance of relegation from opta stats a few weeks ago and we have lost 3 more games since I saw that so probably even higher now . The players have tried their best in most games this season they are simply not good enough that’s the reality , no shame in that at all ! [Post edited 16 Mar 8:31]

Totally different times , we went down and shortly after ended up in administration and had to sell all of our promising players , this time round we won’t go into administration, have solid owners who will back us and won’t have to sell unless we want to and the monies too good as will be the case for Delap [Post edited 16 Mar 8:34]

We’ve got to win as many games in the next nine as we have all season just to draw level with Wolves and that’s assuming they don’t get any more points in the meantime.

I don’t think we will do a Luton but the assumption we will automatically bounce straight back as many seem to think is not a given.
We should be in a strong position but as you say there is much work to do and the EFL is full of teams who expected to recover straight away from a set back and found out the hard way it’s not that easy! | | | |

We will lose Delap & the loan players - Cajuste, Phillips, Enciso but the rest of the squad is young & decent & more than capable of bouncing back. We need a new defensive midfield player & another striker. Hamadi can be #3 striker. |  |
