Whenever I see any.... on 16:13 - Mar 23 by SitfcB | The general consensus amongst women who play, albeit at amateur level, is that the goals and pitches should be smaller. |
It's not quite relevant here but it's been suggested the women in Cricket play from 21 yards, simply for the quicker bowlers to be a bit more threatening, it probably has some merit as a suggestion, obviously they bring the boundaries in too

In terms of the game it was bit of a non contest really & we should’ve won more convincingly. The back 4, particularly the number 5, were all pretty comfortable with the ball & Lucy O’Brien was excellent in attack. [Post edited 23 Mar 19:01]

Whenever I see any.... on 15:47 - Mar 23 by Bloots | ....women's football, which admittedly is infrequent, about 75% of the goals seem to come from goalkeeper errors. They seem to just have to kick it towards the goal and bingo! I'll make an assumption it's the same today. It really seems to be an issue in the women's game, not sure how they can address it though. |
Women's game been underdeveloped for decades and the goalkeeping position is the furthest behind in all of them. Factor in a huge amount of teams still aren't professional and it's gonna take a while to come through.

Think that is true, but certainly at higher levels there is zero appetite for it.

If you're an outfield attacking player, of course you don't want it smaller 🤣 Going back to Cricket, the women also use a marginally smaller ball which I must admit I was oblivious too until we played Mildenhall a few seasons ago and one of their players noticed within an over they were bowling with a women's ball. We could have played the whole innings with it! [Post edited 23 Mar 22:18]

Yeah, pretty tiresome to have the 'quality' discussion every time. Women's football was banned from all FA affiliated pitches for 50 years, and that was because it was more popular than the men's game at the time of the ban, and the women's game was donating money to charities that the so called 'men' at the FA didn't support Even as recently as the 90s, there were zero women's GK coaches, and players like Alex Scott had to take on jobs in the Arsenal men's game to fund their playing career. Farah Williams was homeless for years in order to carry on playing. Nobody feels the need to mention that the ITFC U21s or the youth academy is a poorer quality if they choose to watch those games. Why constantly point out the quality gap with the women's game? It's quite clearly not going to be like watching ITFC men in the Premier League. In fact, nobody felt the need to mention the quality gap when they went and watched a non-league match this weekend. Why call out the women? I was purely talking about.... on 16:11 - Mar 23 by Kropotkin123 | Don't need this assessment of quality every time there is a post on ITFC women's football. An update on our score doesn't merit your insights into the quality of women's goalkeeping. [Post edited 23 Mar 16:12]

Yeah, but it a bit understandable to comment on a perception of the general standard of keepers when once again a goal comes from a blooper isn't it? Well I think so anyway!

Half-time: Town W 2 - 0 Argyle W on 16:42 - Mar 23 by NthQldITFC | Am I right in thinking that it's one club down from the 11 club Championship this season and one up from each of the Northern and Southern (Towen) Premier Divisions, to make up to a 12 club Championship next season? |
Yep, that's correct. It's between us and Hashtag in the South with us looking like favourites, and Forest and Wolves in the North, with Forest having the advantage at the moment. The biggest issue in the pyramid at the moment is the disparity between teams in the same division. In the Northern Prem there is one full time club (Forest), one part-time club (Burnley) and one club with 3 part-timers (Wolves). All the rest of Wolves squad are amateur as are all the other teams in the league. This leads to some properly lop-sided matches - Wolves have had 6-0 and 8-0 wins in the NP. I'm sure over time this will settle down but at times teams come to play Wolves with the clear intention of damage limitation. It's the same in the South, although there have been fewer lop-sided games, save for anyone playing MK Dons who've only earned 1 point all season. They are effectively an Under 17 team after MK pulled their funding and their entire squad and manager left for Real Bedford who are now top of Div 1 SE and look set to replace them. As much as I dislike the whole Real 'Crypto-Bro' thing, they'll be going up at the expense of They-Who-Shall-Not-Be-Named Women's FC, so we can let them off this once.
