Annoying as it is, it seems to make sense to me.

Deduct points at this point in the season and it's going to cause utter havoc with appeals and suchlike - nobody impacted by the points deduction is going to know with certainty where they stand.

At least, if a points deduction is meted out in advance of next season, there's a whole nine months for an appeal to be heard and ruled upon before the results of any points deduction will take effect.

You ain't a beauty but, hey, you're alright.

Lol, of course it won't happen this season. Probably not the next, or the one after thst, or after that, etc, etc... Their legal team will keep kicking the can down the road, rest assured, for years.

Just in time for Norwich to get up and get relegated and reprieved by a big points deduction to City and stay up.

Does it not open the door for a club such as us to take legal action due to loss of earnings as the hearing has been carried out this season? There will be lots and lots of subsequent claims regardless imo.

Absolutely no chance.

It would have been good fortune for us had they been relegated instead of us this season.

We can’t sue anyone for not having enough points to be able to even see the team in 17th on the horizon.

Well in a usual scenario you could do because the offence happened in that season and the points penalty should be applied in the same season. The difficulty with this is it's offences over numerous seasons. So whatever season it's applied, other clubs have a legal challenge. There are numerous teams already geared up for claims once a decision is given.

If the decision is made this summer, can we scrap that Delap release clause nonsense as our compensation, and flog him to Chelski for £70m?

I suspect they're more likely to be in a promotion chase from League One than they are a relegation battle form the Premier League in the next few years.

I'm one of the people who was blamed for getting Paul Cook sacked. PM for the full post.

Hopefully not, in League one Attanasio could throw money at it with no issues. Better off them becoming the next Preston

Given the clause is in our contract with the player and not his former club, I'm going to go with "no"?

As the blunts found out with West Ham cheating, I suspect clubs will not benefit much at all beyond city being taken out for a year.

That will be seen as enough and the easiest thing to do, assuming the powers that be can make it happen at all.
