Now, I love that Sheeran supports us, promotes us and has raised our profiles in places and to demographics football doesn’t typically resonate.
I also think he comes across as a pretty sincere and nice person who genuinely cares.
But I hate his music still (I wish I could like it but it’s not happened to date), find him a bit cringey and have never really wanted a shirt with his sponsorship on. Although infinitely better than other sponsors in this world, such as betting.
It’s a battleground in my mind I’ll never resolve, which annoys me.
Feels good to get that off my chest anyway.

Perfectly entitled to dislike his music. But impossible to argue with seeing thousands of his fans in far flung countries wearing Town shirts because of him.

Yes not bothered at all by his music, only quite like castle on the hill and that’s it. But sincere, nice and cringey at the same time is a difficult one to square. He’s lucky in a way that the best shirts we’ve had in a long time have come in his era of sponsorship and I do like those, certainly compared with Marcus s*dding Evans and magical vegas! |  | | |

There are some terrible sponsors out there. A self made local person with genuine talent (i'm not a massive fan of his music either) is not one of them.
Someone on here posted about seeing someone in a Town shirt a while back who said he wasn't a Town fan but an Ed Sheeran fan. That has brought money into the club. Taylor Swift has single-handedly got lots of young people with no previous interest watching NFL.
A genuine A lister who is squeaky clean and a good person must be a dream for the club.
With that said, your opinion isn't wrong, it's just different but overall the benefits are huge. |  |

I was at a funeral recently (brother in law’s mum) and the family chose Ed’s Supermaket Flowers as one of the songs and it was rather moving. Sitting there it made me think of the incredible global reach a ginger kid from Fram has. It’s quite amazing. I’m glad he’s ours. |  |

Agree - and the OP seems to have lost sight of “the greater good” aspect here. Our musical preferences hardly register on the Richter scale when it comes to Town sponsorship, surely? I’ve only heard a few of Ed’s songs, don’t mind em, don’t love em, but that’s hardly the important thing! |  |

personally I had a bigger problem with Marcus Evans over everything, including the shirt. Then it went worse with the awful Magical Vegas and only got better when it had the charity on it.

I’m not remotely technical enough to even bodge a half cover of that. Ed is a supremely talented musician and seems a really nice bloke, but his music isn’t my cup of tea, and I do feel weird wearing a shirt with his name or whatever on it, just because I wear a lot of band shirts in general.
It goes without saying that he’s better than Magical Vegas by a landslide, and he’s done wonders for the club. I’ve brought three shirts with his logo on it - but it doesn’t mean I love it. | |
