Should you always support the English 08:47 - Apr 21 with 1078 views | onceablue | Team in European Competitions Obviously not when Norwich played Bayern Munich in their one moment of European glory😂😂 After witnessing Arsenal’s arrogant fan base yesterday I will be cheering for PSG. Be great to see the Gooners end the season without a trophy again Didn’t realise in the 33 years of the premier league they have only won it 3 times
Should you always support the English on 08:57 - Apr 21 with 1024 views | DJR | I never support English teams in Europe. And why should I because I don't support them in this country? Putting it another way, if I despise the money which dominates the Premier League, why should I make an exception for when they play in Europe? I might add that I haven't always felt this way but there was a time (in the 70s and before) when away teams shared some of the gate money of the bigger clubs' home games, and football was much more egalitarian. Liverpool didn’t get English teams banned. If the Heysel Stadium disaster was an isolated yet brutal event then only Liverpool would’ve been banned. But it wasn’t. Every single time a bell end fan rioted on the continent (be it whilst supporting England or their club) contributed to the UEFA ban.

To the great annoyance of my father-in-law whose Everton missed out on the European Cup on two occasions.

More just a slight preference

I used to, but given English players are in a minority in these teams it all seems a bit academic now. I don’t watch the European games and really don’t care whether domestic teams win or lose. Will I want the English teams to win when the inevitable Superleague comes along? I won’t be interested.
Should you always support the English on 09:43 - Apr 21 with 801 views | noggin | TBH, I don't take any notice of the Champions League. I will always support Ipswich but the money driven monopoly of the top leagues sickens me. Celtic are on course for a 6th domestic treble in 9 years. Even Celtic fans must get bored of that.

These days, they're just teams that play in England, rather than English teams.

Should you always support the English on 09:54 - Apr 21 with 729 views | GeoffSentence | How were Arsenal's fan base arrogant yesterday? There was a quite a lot of good humoured banter going on between the Arsenal fans and the SAR stand. Bit cheeky of them to nick the Super kieran McKenna song, but other than that they were alright.

Christ, that Celtic stat is ridiculous How fun can it be supporting a team that just constantly wins everything. Surely the highs in football are only so sweet because of all the many many lows!
