The deadline is a bit of a farce really, as it doesn't really matter. It's only there this year because of the Club World Cup so them teams can register players for it.
Any other year, teams just sign players whenever, and they join 'technically' from the 1st July.
We signed Ladapo on 30th May a few years back.

Read that Leeds will wait until July to make any signings which I assume is linked to accounting years and PSR etc. So I wonder if we are like other clubs limited financially with what we can (or want) to do before end June to avoid any possible PSR implications? | | | |

Isn't the transfer window only closed for 6 days before re-opening again?
I guess it will just feel like one continuous transfer window with deals being done but not formalised until it technically re-opens. Wouldn't be surprised if nothing gets announced until 16th even if it is practically completed in this window [Post edited 4 Jun 13:48]

Indeed, it's always the aim under every manager/chief exec but always drags on to some extent. Makes sense for players to take their time before making a decision on where they might go. Once it gets to pre-season there becomes greater urgency. |  | | |

I would expect none especially with the likely PL players/ PL youngsters we will be aiming for.
As is always the case the top clubs, they don't want to sell/ loan this early in the window and would much rather have a big pre-season tour squad.
We will invariably have to wait for the top PL clubs to set their spend, watch the dominoes fall and then see the impact that has on who is available etc from the start of July.
Equally, on the player side, anyone who is a target for us will likely want to see if there is any interest from the promoted three. | | | |
