Well done to him not many have been given the managers job at a successful Premier league club as their first managerial job .

But not yet confirmed:

'Brentford set-piece coach Keith Andrews is frontrunner for the vacant manager's job at Gtech Community Stadium.'

Very, very lucky guy to have such an opportunity afforded to him by Brentford.

Fair play to them.

Yes I agree but makes me wonder how much of an influence he's has been recently in their dressing room.

As much as I do like Keet...I would imagine Brentford will struggle this season.

I predict Brentford will struggle next season. Nothing to do with the Manager just think they’ll lost all their top players from last season.

Lose 4-5 of the first team starters and they’ll be in a relegation battle. Same for Wolves already lost 2 of their starters and top players.

Before I looked at this site I had a heart in mouth moment earlier when I looked at the ticker on Sky Sports News saying ‘Brentford expected to appoint K…’

They like to promote from within, and he's pretty much the last coach left in the building.

They’ve replaced well previously, so could do so again. Their luck will run out at some point though; it always does for the smaller clubs and losing Frank could be costly.

I think losing Frank, as well as key players in Wisa, Mbuemo and Collins could well be a stretch to far for them. Their captain Norgaard was also linked with a move to Arsenal over the weekend, so they'd need to have a bloody impressive window to replace them 4.

Looks like it's going to be confirmed imminently..definitely a risky appointment for them. If it doesn't work they could be in real trouble.

I hope not, but will they be looking for a new manager in Jan if things go wrong with all the players leave.?

There are many great things that KM's agent can sell to a prospective employer.

"Massively improved the Points Per Game of a Premier League team struggling in January" isn't one of them!

He's a long-term, culture building coach, not a short term arse-kicker. Our greatest risk is an established team, with money, that has gone stale and needs a change of approach, coming in during a Summer window.

Definitely an interesting crossroads for Brentford. I imagine Leeds are licking their lips.

Longer term it hopefully wouldn't be bad news for us or any other promoted clubs if there's some disruption to that group of 17 increasingly established PL clubs.

With 2 years left on his contract and the amount of change they're already exposed to elsewhere you would think they would hold firm for the sake of £9m.

Its got Paul Hirst 'rebuild' vibes (although no doubt Andrews is less of a whopper).

Massive risk and surprised he is being given the job due to his lack of experience.

You can be sure that if they're struggling and bottom 3 at Christmas, that they won't hesitate to sack him and bring in a more experienced coach.

There's no way any of the 'established 17' are going to risk falling off the gravy train now.

I'm sure part of their reasoning for giving the job to someone so inexperienced is the weakness of the promoted teams, they must just look at them and think, well we only need 6 or 7 wins to keep above that lot.

Massive risk. I like Keith a lot but struggle to see him lasting the first few tough results.

I know that was then, but it could be again..

Still no confirmation, still ongoing transfer negotiations for Mbueno and Norgaard, Difficult to see Brentford coming out of this well and maybe the reticence is not from Brentford nervous of a rookie manager but from Andrews about accepting a poisoned chalice ?

Which could be good news for us as McKenna may have the same doubts about their sustainability as Andrews may have, but this is all very speculative.

I'd imagine the hold up is down to getting an assistant out of another club.
Has every one forgotten that Roy Keane is available?

I suspect that won't happen if Martin O'Neill's catty comments are anything to go by.

Roy was Martin's assistant at that time.
