Ruined isn't the right word at all, simply by definition.
But I would say I always found it odd that he wore the "after I leave clubs they tend to go down" line like a badge of honour.

VAR and referees weren’t that biased against us last season. It became an excuse in the second half of the season at PR by a vocal minority whose vitriol and hysteria at times was frankly embarrassing, in the absence of something to support on the pitch and the realisation established PL teams were much better than us. | |

1) Massimo should have started the games that Taylor and Phillips did last year.
2) I also second that Douglas was nowhere near as bad as people make out. He was fantastic the year before for Brentford and broke up play well for us.

If they could somehow be magically free of injury and able to play 90 minutes, I reckon we could have scored more points last season if the starting 11 from the Exeter 6-0 game had played every game in the Premier League. The only one I would be worried about is Harry Clarke, and maybe Walton and Luongo would have been a bit shaky but overall I think the team spirit and familiarity with the system and each other would have been worth over 22 points.
However, they would still have been relegated and then there’s nothing to build on from there. |  |
