Oasis perform "miracles" 11:44 - Jul 20 with 2208 views | Oldsmoker | Fans in wheelchairs on the disabled viewing platform at Heaton Park, Manchester managed to overcome their disabilities and stood up and danced when the band started playing. Genuine disabled fans who couldn't get tickets were not happy.

Oasis perform "miracles" on 11:55 - Jul 20 with 2102 views | Herbivore | Not all disabilities require permanent use of a wheelchair. There probably were some chancers and hopefully Ticketmaster will blacklist them, but it's not a good idea to jump to conclusions about what constitutes someone being disabled.

Disability is a very wide spectrum now.

If they’ve paid that sort of money to go and see a crap 90s band then they clearly have a disability of sorts. Disclaimer: not an Oasis fan and very bored of hearing it everywhere currently.

It always has been, but that hasn’t always been recognised (and clearly still isn’t by some …).

Quite. Maybe some people can stand and wiggle about a bit but can’t walk more than 20 yards. We’ve become a very judgemental, jealous and bitter society. Having said that, if they were taking the piss they should have their bollox chopped off.

Plenty of venues have a woefully small amount of disabled or accessible seating. I seem to remember a few years ago a disabled charity pointed out that every single premier league club had less than the recommended amount of disabled seating. I remember trying getting disabled seats for my parents at an ice hockey match. Despite it only being only 60% capacity crowd, when I ordered the tickets weeks in advance and got the last 2 seats. Nearly every single disabled seat was taken by season ticket holders.

Lets bear in mind that not everyone in a wheelchair is completely unable to stand or walk. Many can stand, and walk short distances.

Yeah, this is my point. Surely an able bodied punter is likely to have a better chance of securing one of the thousands of bog standard tickets, why would you even waste your time trying to book tickets that you're less likely to get! I suspect as others have pointed out, this is just people moaning without engaging their brains, thinking all people with disabilities couldn't possibly be able to stand, dance or even move!

Not sure about this. Think it's more a case of tickets getting scalped by bots and then flogged on to whoever is willing to pay the top dollar.

I don't think there can be a worse taking then calling Oasis 'crap'. You can not like them but quite obviously not crap. It's very difficult not to find this story quite amusing.

Must depend on the gig/venue, as I’ve had a couple of occasions lately where I’ve been late trying to get tickets for something, found they were still on sale only to then realise it was only disabled tickets remaining
