Southampton game 15:15 - Jul 22 with 3688 views | danchances22 | Saints fans on X aren’t happy, they’ve just announced pricing for their match at Portman Road and we are charging them £43 for adults. FOURTY three for adults! Crazy

Southampton game on 15:42 - Jul 22 with 2735 views | WestSussexBlue | To have the chance to watch the Champions in their First away game, they should be grateful it’s only £43!

Southampton game on 16:32 - Jul 22 with 2274 views | ATL | Shouldn't laugh, we will get fleeced when we go there later in the season, just as Leeds did to us 2 years ago. Also likely some of the other clubs (including the scum) will inflate their prices when we roll into Town because they know we will more than sell our allocation. Time the EFL got on top of ticket pricing for away fans just lie the PL have

Southampton game on 16:58 - Jul 22 with 2053 views | Dennyx4 | It probably had to be that amount, members have been charged over £40 for home tickets in the upper tiers last year, without the price increases for this season. | | | | Login to get fewer ads

I think twenty is plenty scheme was Prem only.

Yeah, I wouldn't be surprised if all upper-tier tickets were around that. Personally, I don't think that's great from the club, given that matches against the elite prem sides cost less last season.

Matchday ticket prices went up 25%+ last season on account of being Premier League football, why on earth would they be due a further price increase now we’ve been relegated? https://www.twtd.co.uk/amp/news/47473/town-increase-matchday-ticket-prices (Obviously I know the answer to this really…)

It’s £32.50 plus booking fees. So my ticket cost £36. As away clubs are also entitled to 5% of the VAT-exclusive sales proceeds, that’s nearly £5 they’ve got to add a ticket to a website and post it. I get that this may well be the fault of the previous regime for the contract they signed with SeatGeek, but it feels like a rip off.

Easier said than done… Prem clubs can afford to sell away tickets at £30 as it’s a much smaller % of their income than for EFL clubs.

Southampton game on 17:56 - Jul 22 with 1516 views | bluelagos | That's pretty disgusting tbh especially as the stand is hardly top end. If we had a decent supporters club you'd hope they would be speaking out. We don't and they won't. If prices are capped at £30 in the Prem can see no good reason why the lower leagues cant so similar.

It’s actually the same price as a non-member ticket in an equivalent section for a grade A match last season https://s3.eu-west-1.amazonaws.com/gc-media-assets.gc.ipswichtownfcservices.co.u

There was talk a lot a price cap for this season but couldn’t get done in time, they hope it’ll be in place for next season.

Agree with you on the supporters' club - especially as the club's money-grabbing when it comes to away supporters will have repercussions for Town fans when the boot is on the other foot. About as useful as a marzipan d*ldo, that lot.

Southampton game on 18:48 - Jul 22 with 1140 views | Joey_Joe_Joe_Junior | I can't believe how cheap tickets still are in the UK to be honest. Football tickets seem to have stood some of the test of time compared to inflation when you really think about it. The fact PL away tickets in capped in 2025 is unreal. [Post edited 22 Jul 18:49]

Football tickets have risen well ahead of inflation for decades. The away cap may give the opposite impression but the figures are out there.

Maybe I am completely wrong on this then, I swear I remember PL tickets being up to GBP20.00 in the mid 1990s? Or am I just misremembering. It's probably just because I get ripped off for being a sports fan over here even if there is a difference in average wages and general cost of living. Just GBP40 for a game seems a very good deal, ha.
