I find it very weird that his wife has announced on social media he is leaving, but, nothing from the club still?

I imagine the paperwork isn't sorted yet. Club won't announce it until everything is rubber stamped.

It's not exactly a massive secret. McKenna has addressed it.

You don't just say Morsy has gone. I assume it will be announced along with lots of Town TV content which won't make grown adults cry at all.

I saw him at the DL yesterday with Emyr Huws, so he's gone nowhere yet.

I’m assuming paperwork being one issue and the other reason perhaps being the club want to soften the blow with some good news with a new signing

Well we can wish

Why is it weird that people follow a publicly available profile?

Why does anyone follow anyone in that case?

There'll be a fair bit of paperwork relating to his exit from here, international clearance, so assume it'll be announced once that's all tied up.

That's very true but isn't she some sort of make-up/beauty influencer (each to their own if people are into that sort of thing)? A few people seem to be getting a bit upset by her posts for some reason.

There's no way the club will be happy about how this is being handled, and will have tried to put a stop to it.

That it's carrying on as it is probably gives an indication that SM is unhappy with how he is being treated

Just curious, what do you think Morsy is unhappy about? The deal taking so long to complete?

I dont use twitter or follow her, but if a WAG is on a very public profile, posting about ITFC related stuff, I dont think its odd that people pick up on it.

Shes only doing it to get her following up anyway.

Not sure I agree on that one - we are literally letting him take up a great offer - without us taking a fee - because we want to do the right thing around it. If they club aren't happy they wouldn't of let him fly to Kuwait, surely.

I guess that we haven't offered him an extended contract and have looked to replace him

Can't imagine there's too much for Morsy to be frustrated about. As you say we're effectively waiving the final year of his contract and forgoing a fee, seemingly relatively reluctantly, to let him pursue this.

As Phil said I'd imagine there's a little more complexity with this transfer, what with red tape, visa, international clearance etc. Given he only got back from his visit at the weekend its not a huge surprise that its not done yet.

We could always demand a fee from Kuwait and make it really difficult for him.

We gave him a new contract last summer, so I'm not sure why he expects an extension?

I am sure KM will have offered him the chance to stay and play a role, but the reality is that he's approaching 34 and we need to be as strong as possible.

I dont see any reason for complaint. Especially as we are not demanding a fee.

I think you're catastrophising this somewhat.

Morsy's being allowed to leave on a free to get a life-changing contract for his family. Sure, he may be disappointed not to stick around here longer, but he's a big boy, he'll know the score deep down.

He's seemed to get a new contract every summer. Captain or otherwise he hasn't half seemed to call the shots, getting new terms when he's asked and now giving up his contractual commitment for zilch because we wouldn't offer him a longer deal. We could've told him to suck it up and see out his contract, as you say I can't see there's much for him to be too peeved about.

Not sure he can really have his nose put out too much over that. As others have mentioned, he's had new deals on improved terms here a couple of times and we've given him the best years of his career. But he turns 34 soon and we want to be back in the top flight next season, realistically he's not going to be the man to lead us in the Prem if we do make it back up and he must see that. The club is doing right by him letting him leave for nothing to pursue a life changing deal elsewhere. If his toys are out of the pram then we're best off moving on from him.

Is this speculation or inside info? We know it doesn't take much for things to become fact on here especially when it initially comes from someone with credibility.
