For those interested his big money transfer appears to have stalled according to a report.

Meanwhile not a murmur from PR about the much needed strikers...

Early next week an out of the blue GBP10M+ signing or two would certainly settle the nerves. If we get within 7 days of Brum with the same Striker and CM situation I'd be a little worried about our start to the season.

Obviously loans can be great a level down and would guess they come when the PL clubs sort their squads a little more but surely we will be spending some more on fees as well.

Agree, but we have enough for Birmingham IMO. I don't mean enough to beat them, I mean enough options to make due for one game and have a real chance of getting a good result. We all want deals done quickly but this striker is likely to be a £20m investment all in and if we have to wait an extra week or two to get the right player then fans like Arnie will have to just deal with it.

Of course we have enough to field a very good Championship first 11 but I want to be getting the squad together as soon as possible to a certain extent. I said that game as it marks the start of the season. You'd think the money would be spent primarily before the Kick off and the loans trickle in thereafter.

Just as an example likes of Jack Taylor surely won't be playing a lot by mid September, he might have to start if the it kicked off tomorrow. We brought him in after we got promoted from League 1 and he has barely played. A parachute club should have a big upgrade in that area 2 years on really!

"Barely played" is a stretch. Yes, the club has progressed quicker than he has but that is where the backward step of relegation might just play into his hands.

He made 33 Championship appearances for us (albeit only 7 starts) and 32 Premier League appearances out of 38 matches (albeit only 4 starts). He played a total of 838 Premier League minutes last season.

I do agree, however, that we will be looking for someone to start ahead of him.

I'd bring him in.

He hasn't got to move to much which helps family life and we get a solid striker who knows he won't be number 1 as he won't be fit for 46 games.

a niche perspective

Fair but the point remains!

He has never been KM's first choice and two years and GBP130M+ later he'd likely be starting if the season kicked off tomorrow. That's a bit of a problem for me.

Really. We literally have the top scorer in the 23/24 champ season at the club along with multiple players who scored more than 10 goals and the player with the highest number of assists. We should be fine. We also have a midfielder with the better stats across the board than any midfield player in our team from the past three seasons, all of his stats are better than Morsy. We will be fine.

Hmm ok , point taken there.

Maybe its HOW I write things, regarding my concerns , and how frequently I express those concerns? I appreciate it is coming across as "moaning " or being "negative", but I'm not intending it to be. In fact I think I voice similar concerns to others on here, but perhaps just dont express it in the right .

Note to self : Must improve HOW I communicate ... :)

Yes really, talking about very specific positions if you read it. I am pleased with the Morsy replacement but work to do next to him and in certain areas of the pitch and think everyone was hoping we’d be a little further in by now in some of the upgrades.

A lots happened to the club financially since 23/24, that’s the point.
