Indeed but I do feel we are being used by Spanish agents to get deals done elsewhere. This is pretty leftfield, as was the Romero from Sevilla.
Yeah, Fabrizio is basically a mouthpiece for certain agents and it's worked well for him. This feels like it's an agent pushing to finalise a Valencia move rather than a genuine link.

but surely it's a futile act? If we see it, then what effect can it possible have on actually football club directors etc?

I assume that there are a good chunk of directors who are a little hard of thinking - hence why the likes of Rooney kept getting managerial jobs despite having been proven to be incapable.
Sounds daft but I don't think that scoring goals is the be all and end all in our system anyway. Being effective in the press seems to be the biggest priority and something that Hirst has down to a tee.
I'd like to think we have more than enough goals throughout the rest of the side which all feed off the right forward anyway.

Yep, you're bang on here. Really surprised at how often people lament our links with strikers with 'bad scoring stats'.
Our system has always been primed for the players behind the striker to feed off of and score goals, rather than the striker himself score the goals.
Yes, obviously you still want the striker to reach double digits, but more of our goals will come from the Clarkes, Szmodiczs, Chaplins, and Philogenes of the world
