Spot on with the 3 x named, & as you say it was the same last year & zero improvement - maybe it’s as far as coaching can take these guys, BJ has had 80 + games at PL level…….doesn’t show that too me, turned up to an intimidating ground & didn’t have anywhere near the fight we did back in league 1. |  | | |

Clarke shines in non-physical games where the opposition press is weak. With the ball at his feet and running, he's an exciting player.
Taylor doesn't seem to have a particularly strong asset that makes him a starter for me. He just does everything a bit so-so.Even his long shots have disappeared.
Johnson always seems to spend half a second too long making a decision and his passes are very predictable. Would sooner Young starts every match. |  |

I really feel Taylor has been a flop for us, I have seen nothing other than a couple of worldie goals in fairly meaningless games for us since he signed for us. I tend to disagree with people that post negatively about our players , on the whole, bit I just fail to see what McKenna has ever seen in him. I just can't get behind him at all.
I feel a bit similar with Johnson, but I'll give him more time before digging in on my view.
When it comes to Clarke, I feel for him, if I'm honest. He is being played as a narrow LHS 10 and, for me, this just doesn't suit him at all. I said it in the Prem, and I'll say it again in the Championship, he is a left winger and I don't understand the whole trying to convert what he was best at, and destroying this level at, in playing wide left. McKenna has made some absolutely great decisions over the last 4 years but I think he has also made some baffling ones in the last 12 months too. | | | |

I find it amazing with taylor that he's been part of championship promotion. Prem games. Yet still doesn't look any better than when he joined. Surely you'd improve after 2 seasons. |  |

In a game where we're not being pressed so much, I can see Clarke staying out wider and Leif making those inside runs as per pre season
Clarke is a confidence player and I believe he'll come good
Taylor works hard and didn't have a bad game but we need better
Johnson, I've never rated him. He had a couple of decent games last year but otherwise has looked very poor since we bought him. He really annoyed me laughing and chatting with their winger when a player was down, and he was effing and jeffing about something when he was subbed off as well. I am not a fan.
Today showed we need to strengthen in the middle, but it was probably more greatly highlighted by the opposition, the situation and what it meant to them. It was always going to be competitive

Sadly agree. Taylor has a good attitude and no shortage of fight but so limited.
Johnson is a bit of an enigma. He has defensive and attacking traits but never seems to do either well consistently.
Clarke was just a bad signing. Needs a loan away from here to a European league where he won't get pushed around. It was like playing with 10 men with him on tonight. |  |

Yes a bad night for the Jack Taylor will prove people wrong crowd. Always a chance he loses the ball with his back to goal and often over hits crosses or when trying to switch the play. So so far off a starter for any parachute team. Still don’t know how we end the game with that personnel on the pitch after being promoted. [Post edited 9 Aug 0:55]
