That Leicester squad looks very strong to me. I'm surprised they haven't lost a few more, the likes of Fatawu and Mavididi. There is still time for this to happen of course, but as it stands I make them favourites to win the league.

A points deduction would be handy of course, but they seem to just constantly evade this so not holding out much hope there.

They've also spent hundreds of millions over multiple seasons building their squad. We've had one season in the premier league, so I'd expect our side to be behind theirs in terms of depth

Though, with everyone available, our bench would look something like Walton, Townsend, Kipre, Taylor, Burns, Ogbene, Clarke, Chaplin, Al-Hamidi which offers far more options than we have at the moment. I'm not sure if depth if the problem - other than central midfield - as much as absent players.

Well Chalobah scored but looks like he has hamstring injury and will be off.

apparently, it was chalobah's first league goal since 2021 which surprised me

If there points deduction is 7 or less they will win the league, our squad is weak, and I expect them and us to add,
Siht show of a transfer window so far,
See how the next three league games go see if we're to much behind,

they've not managed to finish 7 points ahead of us, even when they've had massive structural factors in their favour. they may also have a transfer embargo on top of the penalties, think 5th or 6th is far more likely, but they would be hot favourites to win the playoffs (unless soton or us drop down)

They are just us with a slightly better balance but with a looming points deduction.

Always going to win this game.

I know that was then, but it could be again..

They've also cheated the system. Looking at their team it seems they're still not cutting their cloth accordingly. No doubt they fail PSR again, with little consequence.

Absolutely

Another reason why they can bring on Belgian internationals and we bring on Cam Humphreys (no disrespect to him whatsoever)

They have better depth and in the 10s they have truly elite players that are probably not champ players, similar to Hutchinson not being a champions standard player.

No idea if they are keeping all of them.

Don’t take us off the hook for that either, we weren’t short of a few quid.

Their bench is much better than ours too. The more I watch of this league, the more I think we've spent poorly in repalcing the core of our squad and that we've got a few expensive decorations and zero tree.

Obviously bar Delap and Omari who were great buys but where is the £70m from them going.

Yeah but having money for a few seasons and being premier league staples for almost all of the last 10 years are very different

Probably because he's rather busy.

Yes our recruitment last summer was not that great IMO for the fees paid. We purchased English Championship players with amazing stats in that league for a lot of money, not all of which seem to fit our system that well. Clarke I think is a fairly good example of this, an excellent winger for Sunderland but Davis operates that space for us in an attacking sense.

We also bungled the GK situation badly, which led to yet another kind of panic purchase of a keeper that isn’t really a McKenna ball player, although a fine shot stopper.

Starting the game with Taylor and finishing it with Ali and Humphrey’s is not a good look after getting promoted and spending that much cash, whichever way you slice it. August points still count!

The hope is that we just have so much quality at this level we will go up and then we can look at addressing some of it. I do worry we will have to take a loss on some of our purchases though as it stands. Not being all doom and gloom we hit big on Delap and still have a hell of a squad but I’ve been a bit luke warm on it overall. The fees for Philogene and Greaves seemed quite high to me. We have to go up in the next two years!

Foxes forum ready to take a hatchet to the whole management at half time.
They were all ready to cannonise them at ful time.
Waste of space.

Rumour has it that the League are looking to dock them half a point, but that, in an entirely separate move, the League is also bringing in a new rule that any team that finishes the season with a total containing fractions of a point will have its total points rounded up to the nearest whole number.
