Happy to take the downies on that. McKenna knows him best and clearly wasn’t interested in giving him another lifeline.

Not one as a club in this division we need to take a risk on imo.

Bit of a come down from Besiktas. It shows how much crap is spouted by clickbaity media outlets like TalkSh*t.

Maybe he’ll come good and end up cooking on gas?

For me, there are two very clear things but they cannot be separated.

As a footballer, he showed quality with us and during his time at Man Utd, I don't think anyone can argue otherwise.

As a person and character, he has flaws and issues (as we all do).

It could be just me but I feel McKenna is generally becoming a bit tougher on who we take on..maybe had his fingers burned a few times to much in the last season or 2.
It’ll be interesting to see what kind reception he gets when he plays at Portman road if it happens.
I liked a lot some of what we saw of him in his short time especially after his nightmare debut.. I hope Hull helps him but they have the ability to go all Wednesday or Blackburny…we’ll see.

Don't want you to be right with the title but I agree re any decision; we're much too professional and serious to be returning to an employee who displayed the opposite behaviour when he was last here (and when he was last working). Doubtful it would have been the right environment for him either, with the same influences presumably in the area still.

Understandable for Hull to take the risk though, given their embargo mess and relegation prospects. Good luck to both.

Yes, good move for him, he’ll probably do well - and it’s the ass end of nowhere, which may help!

But the fact the desperate and daring took a chance on him (rather than clubs with choice lf the market) goes to show…

he knows its his last chance saloon. but then again, he would have known that when he was here.

for the disruption it would cause, im not sure the benefit is worth it.

such a talented individual, shame he didnt have that "mentor" a few years ago.

Fantastic footballer, but I feel he had his chance with us and was not able to take it, KMC got him out of Manchester with a strong leadership group to support him, but the "demons" came back and bit him hard. I really hope is is a big success at Hull because he has so much talent.

It's quite possible he lied to KM and MA when he joined: there's no way we'd take on someone who was recently arrested for what he did. Such a shame, but he was a risk that didn't work out. Luckily most have recently became the club does huge amounts of background research on a player.

"As a person and character, he has flaws and issues (as we all do)."

Fair point, but I'll wager most of us aren't just 3 months into a 14 month prison sentence and 3 year driving ban.

Glad he now has a chance to rebuild his career, and hope it works out for him - wouldn't be surprised if it does, as there's clearly a player in there if he has learned his lesson, got rid of his off the field problems, and decided to focus on his football.

Also glad (and relieved) we decided not to take that gamble - he massively let down the faith showed in him by the manager and teammates last time around, and trying to rebuild that would have been distraction we really don't need this season.

People liked his energy - and particularly that goal against Preston - but, for me, he was a little bit too wild. Some of his tackling only just the right side of the red card line.

We’re shopping in M & $ now not Aldi middle aisle. Something you buy thinking it would be quite useful, use it once or never at all, and then sell it cheap when you realise you didn’t need it but it seemed a bargain at the time

We've taken a risk paying £9m or so for Matusiwa, whose experience is limited to the far less physical French & Dutch leagues. He was out of his depth in what was a difficult game on Friday so here's hoping he manages to adjust to the different pace of English football.

I think that's it. We have been there and thought we were the ones who could 'rehabilitate' him and even with our professional and stable set-up, it wasn't enough.

Hull will probably be the latest ones to think they can succeed where others have failed, but ultimately will probably end up with the same result.

It's a risk we simply don't need to take given our position.

More caught out by the pace of the game I think than 'out of his depth'

He got better as the game went on I thought, and I like the fact he moves the ball forward quickly as the defensive midfielder.

This really is Brandon Williams' last chance saloon to make a living as a professional footballer. I hope he is a success at Hull. Good luck to him. I wouldn't have objected to him getting another chance with us personally.

I'm not so sure. If he does well at Hull (and we know he's talented) but then makes a big mistake in his personal life, Hull may not take him back. But I would bet there will be some other club in the league ladder that would "everybody deserves other chance" it.

Good luck to him indeed. He stuffed up, but I bear him no ill will, and he's a talented guy. Just hope he doesn't find his form against us!

He's had to drop down to championship level to get this chance. If he screws up at Hull, then it'll be a drop down to L1 or L2 or worse. He's not going to get unlimited chances - even if he's got talent, clubs are not going to be interested in the problems that come with him.

Yeah I agree with that. I just think that there would be another roll of the dice in the professional sphere if he plays to his ability this time round.

It's a shame it didn't work out for him at Town, as we could certainly do with him right now as a player. But Kieran knows him best, and if he's burned his bridges there, then that's clear and final.

I would be mildly interested in what sort of contract Hull have offered him. While they've potentially got a very good player for free, I would only have wanted him here if his contract was heavily weighted towards appearances.
